Less than 40 minutes from Dublin, the Station House Hotel in Kilmessan, County Meath, is a beautiful country house which boasts all the amenities of a hotel with the personality of a family-
run, exclusive venue.
The hotel itself is a charming converted railway station, dating back to 1862 when the first Dublin bound trains ran through Kilmessan in County Meath. Chris and Thelma Slattery later bought the converted property in 1981 and first opened its doors as a warm and welcoming country house hotel in 1984. Now into its second generation, the Slattery family and their team have been hosting weddings and events for now 40 years, with an un- waivered commitment to excellence and every detail covered.
The multi award winning venue, has recently undergone a complete refurbishment both indoors and out. The refurbishment draws inspiration from travels across the globe, where Irish country chic meets with eclectic influences from India, Istanbul, Middle East and beyond.
Holding on to the charm and magic of the past, the Station House Hotel is known for its warmth and superior service. Short-listed for Best Restaurant Leinster with Food & Wine Ireland in November 2023, and described as ‘superb’ by esteemed food critic Lucinda O’Sullivan in the Irish Independent in February 2023, The Station House Hotel has won numerous awards and accolades for its food and service over the years. The Station House prides itself on using the freshest ingredients, sourced locally as much as possible, home-made to perfection. To this end, it has established solid partnerships with a local chemical free farm in Kilmessan village (less than 1km), a charcuterie producer in Tara (within 5km), local bee keepers, Boyne Valley cheese producers, and other farms all within a 20 mile radius.
Set on 12 acres of manicured gardens and woodland, the original railway buildings, now listed, offer lots of gorgeous options for your big day.

The Carriage Suite can also be used for the most romantic of indoor ceremonies, against a cream linen back-drop and candles framing the aisle.
