Today we're bringing you a real wedding that is full of Irish charm from the lovely Alysa and Aaron. This adventure-loving pair travelled from Arizona in the US to Ballintaggart House in Kerry, for their gorgeous, intimate ceremony by Dingle Bay. With rugged coastlines, pretty pastels and glamorous golds, not to mention drop-dead gorgeous mix-and-match bridesmaids style, this 'do was everything you could want in a romantic destination wedding! These stunning images were captured through the eye of Ball Photo Co and we are big fans. Take a look for yourself!
We had to ask the lovely couple how they met because, as you may well know, we're suckers for a good love story! Alysa tells us that she met Aaron in their final year of university at a party and they, "hit it off straight away". They started dating and graduated a few months later. After a couple of years in a long-distance relationship, the couple decided to settle down at home where they both grew up.
After three years of dating, couple took a trip to the East coast of the US as their first big holiday together. In hindsight, Alysa said she should have seen the proposal coming! "Nearly a week into the vacation, we were walking along the beach after dinner," she tells us. "It was a full moon and the way it reflected off the ocean was stunning. We stopped to sit on a bench near the shore and enjoy the view."
Then Aaron handed her a card that was very sentimental and she got a bit teary-eyed. "When I looked up to say thank you and give him a kiss, he was on one knee with the most gorgeous ring! I was so overwhelmed, I started full-on crying and forgot to actually say the word ‘yes’."
We love how Alysa & Aaron choose two of their pals to be their 'flower men'! It's a trend we can't get enough of!
The couple decided to tie the knot in Dingle after almost booking a venue in Arizona. Alysa tells us that the idea of marrying in Ireland came naturally as her family had travelled to Ireland a lot through the years, and "you can’t beat the landscape!" The couple wanted to give their guests an experience that they would never forget, and they did!
The beautiful florals were created by Every Occasion and we just love the earthy tones!
When we asked how the day went, Alysa said, "Our day was magical. Ballintaggart House on Dingle Bay provided a whimsical backdrop and Every Occasion Florist added the perfect finishing touches. All of our vendors made the day so relaxed and enjoyable by helping us to pace everything perfectly, so it didn’t get too overwhelming. It was a day of celebration with just the right amount of adventure. Ballintaggart was such a special place, it added even more romance and hospitality to an already incredible journey."
The couple's advice for anyone planning a wedding is to not let the expectations of others get into the picture and just do you! Alysa assures us, "You’ll be surprised how supportive your friends and family are when they know you’re doing what you want!"
A huge thank you to the wonderful couple for sharing their Ballintaggart House wedding with us and a special thanks too goes to Hannah and Jaron from Ball and Co. Photography. There are more beautiful images for you to pore over in the gallery below.
