Give me a New York loft style wedding venue with industrial details, great food, a hint of urban charm, and you've got my idea of a perfect venue. Add in a lovely couple with a sweet love story to the mix and the result is a beautifully modern, non-traditional, "I do." Todays couple Audrey & Ciaran tied the knot last winter at Medley in Dublin's Fair City and their wedding was all kinds of cool. JAM Shoots was behind the lens capturing all the details and memories and we are thrilled we get to share it with you all today...
Breaking tradition, Audrey and Ciaran choose to stay together the night before their wedding wanting to fully enjoy the build-up. They woke to share a champagne breakfast before they both separated to get ready for the big day. What a lovely way to calm any nerves either of you might have.
First things first, let's find out a little bit about this lovely couple, how they met and their lovestory...
Audrey and Ciaran met in Dublin while living as housemates. They dated for over a year when they decided to move out into their own apartment.
Shorty after they moved into their new apartment, Ciaran relocated to California for work. One day he flew from California to surprise Audrey with a proposal in the private setting of their Dublin home. Audrey remembers the magical moment…“Ciaran created a fort in the middle of the living room surrounded by flowers, candles and a giant tassel tail balloon. When he proposed he had John Legend's You and I playing. Ciaran chose the ring himself and it was exactly what I would have chosen myself. The entire setup was so special and personal to us both.”
From the beginning, Audrey and Ciaran knew they wanted to get married somewhere a little non-traditional. Audrey tells us what went into finding their perfect venue…“We wanted a venue to suit our style. Somewhere a little different. We always knew we wanted to get married in Dublin and whilst Ciaran is from Fermanagh, Dublin itself is very special to us both as it was the place where we met and where we call home. Being able to have our wedding in Dublin city centre was the ideal choice for us, and Medley was the perfect venue. Right in the heart of Dublin the bistro/private dining venue is styled with exposed concrete, dark wood and bronze accents. The venue has a super cool New York bistro vibe and really appealed to the both of us.”
As they started planning their wedding, they knew that two of the most important elements for them were food and entertainment. Audrey explains, "We wanted our families and friends to enjoy amazing food and top quality music that really represented us as a couple. "
Audrey describes the wedding as, “Everything we wanted and more! We knew we wanted something different. We wanted something unique and special where we could celebrate us in the city we love with our closest family and friends.”
We love how Audrey and Ciaran brought out the copper and loft style accents from the venue with copper details on their tables - geometric copper candleholders, grey and brass taper candle sticks and copper accented menus and place cards.
The couple leaves us with some important advice…“Plan your day exactly the way you want to. Make sure your day is true to both your styles and avoid trends or traditions that don’t have any meaning to you. It’s your special day so make sure when you look back on it that it really represents what was most important to you both. Don’t get caught up in the little things, they don’t matter. The most important thing is the two of you sharing your day with your loved ones.” Wise words guys!
Congrats to the beautiful couple! A big thank you also goes to John Gillooley of JAM Shoots for sharing his work with us. To see more from John visit jam-shoots.com
