We're sharing the most gorgeous inspirational photoshoot, featuring the kind of images that make you want to embrace the unpolished landscape or cool clean lines of the city that surround your venue, so you can have a wedding shoot just like this! Photographed by Ulrich Sperl Weddings, who was helped with planning and design by the team at Ledi Zoto Events, the elopement shoot took place outdoors, in the canyon-like setting of an Austrian marble quarry. A minimalist couple's dream, the bare aesthetic matching the contemporary styling with touches of glamour perfectly. Featuring a dramatic feast setting with just three guests, if you're looking for inspiration for a pared-back celebration, this is it.
An elegant and totally unique elopement celebration set on the dazzling stage of Austria's Sölker marble quarry, the team climbed to almost 1400 metres above sea level, before they descended into the depths of the quarry to get creative.
Austrian wedding stylist Ledi and photographer Ulrich were inspired by the settting which saw them encircled by giant walls of the finest marble as Sölker marble from Styria is one of the highest quality marbles of the world. Contrasting beautifully with this rugged, raw material, the rich black bridal gown and contemporary monochrome wedding stationery set the tone that would be minimalist glamour. While the tablescape with jet black chairs and tableware popped wonderfully against the ecru linen.
Once called "stone of the gods" by ancient greeks it served as a stunning setting on this sunny day, with the light playing beautifully against the primordial backdrop. Monumental blocks of precious marble cast large drop shadows which served an extra layer of drama to the photos.
Rough cuts of marble expose the fine veins of colour running through the surface of the sandy coloured stone allowing you to see the delicate hints of white, earthy rose, green and grey shades which were subtly echoed in the décor and floral feature featuring dried hydrangeas and eucalyptus and striking blackened baby's breath, all of which paired exquisitely with the black accessories.
Tall tapered jet black candles in clear glass candlesticks enhanced the monochrome look, with plentiful candles in small hurricane glasses added a sense of warmth and intimacy to the setting. More rich colour was added with the spectacular showpiece cake which featured marbling, dried hydrangeas and gold leaf foil details, showing that minimalism can still have touches of opulence.
No two pieces of marble are alike, so why not dare to be uniquely you on your wedding day. When it comes to wedding styling to your taste - things are rarely black and white!
