Essential Information about Wedding Restrictions in Ireland in October 2021:

From October 1st to October 21st 2021:

  • Guests: 100 guests are permitted at wedding ceremonies and receptions, as stated here.
  • Live Music: As stated here, live music is permitted at weddings.
  • Dancing: As stated here, dancing is permitted at weddings, "but guests should emphasise personal responsibility."
  • Curfew: As stated here, a curfew of 11.30pm will remain.
  • Seating: As stated here, the 6-to-a-table rule will remain.

From October 22nd 2021 onwards:

  • Guests: There are no restrictions on guest numbers at weddings in Ireland, but all other protective measures remain in place, as stated here. Protective measures include social distancing and mask wearing, more information can be found here.
  • Live Music: As stated here, live music is permitted at weddings.
  • Dancing: As stated here, dancing is permitted at weddings, "but guests should emphasise personal responsibility."
  • Curfew: No Government-issued curfew applies, as stated by the Department of Tourism and reported here.
  • Seating: As stated here, a maximum of 10 adults per table, and max 15 including children, will be permitted in hospitality settings.
  • Vaccine passports/Digital Covid certs: As there's no mention of it here, we think it's safe to assume that there's no requirement for wedding guests to produce a vaccine passport or digital Covid cert in order to attend a wedding. Wedding guests have never been required to produce a vaccine passport at any stage of the pandemic, and the government has treated weddings as a separate category of event for a couple of months now.
