In Japan, the crane is considered one of the mystical or holy creatures and is said to live for a thousand years: hence the creation of 1000 paper cranes , one for each year. In some stories it is believed that the 1000 cranes must be completed within one year and all be made by the individual who wishes to make the wish. Although when it comes to wedding decorations I think it's ok to bend the rules a little and get some help!

Paper Crane Ceremony Decoration Ideas

If your ceremony space doesn't have a suitable spot for a backdrop you can add some paper crane decorations to your aisles or wedding guests chairs. The little branches with hanging paper cranes would be particularly easy to replicate - and could be then reused for your wedding reception décor.

To complete the trend, decorate your reception with lots more little cranes. These can be used to decorate the room, as a guest book, as a wedding favor or to add some style to your wedding cake table. If you're crafty, you could even make paper crane place names in a variety of papers. Very cute and affordable - just make sure to give yourself plenty of time to craft each one, especially if you have a long guestlist.
