The Big Day: Your Wedding Day Timeline

What, where, when...

Today's Wedding Day Timeline is a handy little guide to help you figure out the flow and running order of how your wedding day will go. Most brides and grooms will have been to plenty of weddings as guests, so have a fair idea of how the day should go, but it can be a little different when you are the bride and groom! Of course, every wedding is different and will have different moments to others so you don't have to take the below as gospel, but rather a guide for how long things can take etc. We have done a sample timeline for a wedding ceremony which takes place at 2pm, that includes a first look and is around 30 minutes from your ceremony venue.

Your Wedding Day Timeline

6am - 7.45am Wake up, shower and breakfast (having brekkie is super important on the morning of your wedding!)

8am Depending on how many bridesmaids and ladies need hair and makeup done this can take 45mins to an hour per person for makeup and the same amount of time for hair. (Remember to wear a button down top or shirt to change out of easily and  not mess your hair and makeup before putting on your gown.)

10-11am Photographers and videographers arrive to capture prep shots.

11.30am Suit up and put your wedding dress on!

12.30pm Cars leave (This can vary greatly depending on how far you are from the ceremony or first look location)

1pm First look (if you are having a first look we would recommend allowing at least a half hour for this, there will be so many emotions and it's not something you want to rush)

1.30pm Photographer and videographer leaves to set up at ceremony

2pm Arrive at Ceremony - say I Do! (Woo!)

3pm Bridla party photos (and/or group) photos

4pm Arrive at venue for cocktail reception, this time can vary if your portraits were taken a distance away from the venue.

4.30pm Bridal party portraits (and/or group) photos

5.30pm Call for dinner

5.45pm Speeches - you may prefer to do this after the meal.

6.30pm Dinner

9pm Cake Cutting

9.30-10pm Band starts with First Dance and plays for your agreed amount of time. This is followed by afters food and DJ until your agreed time or until last orders or venue closing time.

Again this guideline will vary for every couple and every wedding day, the most important thing? Have the absolute best day!
