Today's Stuff We Love is a little unusual, we are delighted to be able to showcase the work of a group of wonderful wedding creatives from the Kingdom of Kerry. In a collaboration led by Carrie from Best of Buds Florists and Pauline from Dennigan Photography. They have whipped up a magical Irish fantasy vintage-style inspiration shoot which showcases all the talents of Cloudberry Bakery, makeup artist Kathryn O'Neill, Tricia O'Sullivan of Munster Mobile Hairdressing, the vintage wedding dresses of Dirty Fabulous all set in the romantic backdrop of Ballintaggart House.
We are delighted to feature the work of this great bunch of inspiring wedding professionals and hope you love it as much as we do...
The venue for this deliciously sweet vintage-inspired wedding shoot was Ballintaggart House, a 300 year old Manor, situated at the entrance to Dingle Town overlooking Dingle Bay and the Skelligs. John the proprietor had the fires blazing and made the girls completely at home providing lots of lovely mismatched china from the house to decorate the tables, while the delectable cupcakes model Sarah is munching on are from Cloudberry Bakery (look out for their cakes in the following pictures too)
Model Sarah's make up is a blend of natural glamour that works perfectly for brides, and is the work of Kathryn O'Neill who is head of make-up artistry (Ireland) for Daniel Sandler Cosmetics, while her beautiful red hair was styled by Tricia O'Sullivan of Munster Mobile Hairdressing - I love this modern twist on a 40s roll - softer and more contemporary, but still with that touch of vintage glam.
Just one item from the house collection of tea pots in Ballintaggart...
Sarah's beautiful vintage dresses come courtesy of Kathy and Caroline in Dirty Fabulous - if you haven't been, go! They've a fantastic collection of vintage dresses both bridal and occasion, and are always off on trips getting more.
For those brides worried by the potential of Irish weather, this shoot shows that grey skies don't matter when you've got a great photographer. Pauline Dennigan shows how a talented wedding photographer can make a model, or couple shine.
Apparently when the girls decided to head into the fields and get some pictures with the sheep grazing. But not to be deterred I'm told Tricia O'Sullivan displayed a hidden talent by herding them together! Taming locks and taming sheep - sure it's almost the same thing!
These gorgeous brooches are the work of Carrie from Best of Buds Florists - she has taken her talent and expertise with flowers and launched a new range of handmade, bespoke brooch bouquets. We have long loved brooch bouquets as an alternative to traditional floral bouquets, not least because you will have it as a memento of your wedding forever.
Special mention has to be made of Carrie's gorgeous table centres - you will never guess what they consist of... Carnations! Yes, Carrie is that good - she has made the erstwhile petrol station forecourt/last minute apology flower into the epitome of chic. By packing them tight and adding lots of vintage brooches, she has created texture and elegance. Bravo Carrie, Bravo! I am frankly astonished.
Amazingly this was model Sarah's first ever venture into the world of modelling. The ladies were on a serious look out for a redhead and Pauline Dennigan discovered Sarah working in the CH Chemist in Tralee, approached her and she agreed. She looks so beautiful, a complete natural.
A new chic take on the Bus Eireann ad?
This is just a selection of the vintage-inspired ideas the girls came up with, you can gorge yourselves more over on Carrie's website Best of Buds Florists and on Pauline Dennigan's Blog. Perfect Friday indulgence!
Many thanks to Carrie and to Pauline!
