Once engaged Danielle and Michael seized the opportunity to invite all their guests away and decided upon a three day Italian celebration at the idyllic Borgo di Tragliata. Filled with rustic charm, amazing food and prosecco, this wedding by John Lalor Photography will have you dreaming of an autumn/winter getaway...
Danielle tells us how they met..."Myself and Micheal met in a little country pub on a cold winters night two weeks before Christmas. Although we were at a mutual friends 30th party, and I only lived in the next town from Micheal, we had never met before this night. After a bit of flirting and lots of charm from Micheal he asked for my number. The next day he called me and asked me out. He was the perfect gentleman wining and dining me over the Christmas season and soon enough we fell madly in love."
Three years later Michael proposed. Danielle remembers..."Three years later, on the same date we met, Michael popped the question. As it was our anniversary we were heading out for a fancy meal. I was busy getting ready while he as casually strumming his guitar in the sitting room. I was just about to say get a move on when he broke out into song, the first song he ever sang to me! He had changed the words slightly to insert Danielle will you marry me. Then from behind a cushion a little box appeared. It was just lovely at home with the Christmas tree and decorations up sparkling away. Perfect."
Once engaged Danielle and Michael quickly settled on the idea of a destination wedding at Borgo di Tragliata. Danielle explains what convinced them..."It was really important to us that we got more than one day from our wedding. This was the main reason for choosing to go abroad. We wanted a three day celebration where all our friends and family stayed together. When we visited the Borgo di Tragliata last year, it didn't take us long to realise we had found our dream venue. Not only was the place like something from a Woody Allen movie, just so dream like, but the wedding planner Cristina just sold it to us when she brought us on a tour around the venue. She was an amazing wedding planner to deal with and nothing was ever a problem, she was so easy to communicate with throughout the whole planning of the wedding."
With their dream destination wedding venue found Danielle adopted a subtle drama theme as a nod to her love of Irish theater. She describes..."The theme was Irish playwrights. I am a drama facilitator and studied drama in college so I wanted to incorporate my love of Irish theater into our wedding day. Each table was named after an Irish playwright with a quote by the playwright. Just a personal little touch."
A huge congratulations to you both and thanks so much for sharing your destination wedding with us all! A big thank you also goes to John Lalor Photography for sharing his work with us. To see more from John Lalor Photography visit www.johnlalorwedding.ie
