A quick stroll around Dublin, and you'll see that over the last few years, doughnuts (or donuts if you prefer) have taken over from cupcakes, macaroons and cake pops as the trendiest sweet treat around. So it's not surprising that couples are using donuts as alternatives to wedding cakes as well.
But they aren't just stacking them on a plate, oh no; for a while now, Doughnut Walls are officially a thing, and we couldn't be more excited that they seem to be sticking around. These epic treat-filled installations are a conversation-starting decor feature and make great edible wedding favours. If you're on the fence about the idea, then check out some of our favourite doughnut walls at weddings for inspiration that'll make your mouth water...

Tips for Planning a Doughnut Wall At Your Wedding
1. Beware of Melting Donuts - If your wedding is in summer or in a hot location, opt for simple sugar doughnuts, don't order the iced variety - a wall of dripping icing may not look so appealing after a few hours! Ask your venue or caterer if they can hold off on hanging the donuts until right before the guests arrive.
2. Make a Sign - Make sure to have signage encouraging guests to help themselves so they don't feel nervous to take one (or two!)
3. Make it Fun - Add your own doughnut pun for extra fun! Our favourite puntastic ideas include "A “hole” lotta love", “Donut you want one?”, “Donut worry, be happy”, "Donut mind if I do" and “Donut stop, won’t stop.
As will most food trends, we're not sure how long this one will last, (waffle cones are coming up fast!) but for now, you'll find us by the desert table with our faces covered in sugar!
Not a big doughnut fan? Other fun trending wedding treats include wedding marshmallows, cake pops and cookies.
