Great Gatsby Wedding - Ashley Park House Inspiration

Well worth waiting for, the second part of the amazing Great Gatsby Wedding inspiration shoot - the flowers, the dresses, the cakes, the stationery - a feast of 1920s wedding ideas and inspiration

So here it is, the long awaited part 2 of the gorgeous Great Gatsby inspired shoot we showed you a couple of weeks ago (apologies for the delay, entirely my fault) and trust me it's definitely worth the wait! To catch you up or refresh your memory, the premise is simple - our Gatsby style hero is about to wed his gorgeous but dull bride, but is distracted by her effervescent friend. We saw him torn between the two ladies in part one, but who will he choose...

Here comes trouble...

Will the bride make it to the altar, or will it turn out like poor old Lady Edith on Downton Abbey (my heart broke for her seriously...)

But in this case it seems the lady got her Gatsby, while the other will have to wait her turn...

The dapper flapper theme for this inspiration shoot was more than in part derived from the location - Ashley Park, near Nenagh in Co. Tipperary. Although the original house dates from the 1700s, much of the current exterior was added in the 1910-1920 period, the verandah in particular giving a turn-of -the-century American feel to the property. Inside however, it is pure old school country house glamour.

The grounds of Ashley Park with its magnificent lake, provide the most romantic background for wedding portraits, even in the depths of winter... It may have been cool in this rowboat, but the results of Lisa O'Dwyer's imagery are iconic.

In keeping with the muted tones of the landscape, the mossy greens and soft early spring buds, a diverse group of great wedding professionals created a reception fit for a 1920s dandy and his lady...

Beautiful Art Deco inspired stationery by Finer Details, decorative touches such as the champagne coupes, silver trays and typewriter by Pearl and Godiva, and of course the opulent florals by The French Touch, all bring the romantic 1920s Great Gatsby theme alive...

If there was one thing the 1920s was known for was Grandeur, with a capital G.

And finally, for the piece de resistance - this is what you call a dessert table! Sam from Cloudberry Bakery knocks one out of the park yet again...

Showcasing a variety of styles of soft-iced cakes, from ruffles to ridges, soft swirling to smooth and sleek, there's an art to the soft-iced cake that is only practiced by masters...

So, all in all, well worth waiting for, I'm sure you'll agree... A big bualadh bos to the team involved in creating this beautiful shoot led by Claire of White Sage Events and of course Lisa O'Dwyer behind the camers.

If you love what you see, then you should talk to the fabulous wedding suppliers and services who created everything and get them involved in your wedding...
