1. Zodiac Print Wedding Dresses

Star and moon prints were all over the SS18 runways at Bridal Fashion Week, but if you're not ready for yards and yards of fabric embellished with metallic constellations, think about channeling this trend in zodiac-inspired hair accessories instead.

2. Bridal Capes

Be they long and dramatic or short and retro, capes are all over the bridal fashionscape this year both on the catwalk, and in our real weddings (see our featured brides Nichola, Sandra, Siobháin, Penny and Christina for inspiration!) and can be incorporated into most wedding-day looks, on pretty much any budget.

3. Two-Piece Wedding Dresses

Subtly edgy and oh-so-comfortable, two-piece wedding gowns form a trend that's a little left of field, but one that all brides look (and feel!) fabulous in!

4. Bridal Jumpsuits

Contrary to popular belief, you don't have to be the world's sharpest dresser to pull off an all-in-one wedding-day look! A little bit of moxy goes a long way when it comes to bridal jumpsuits, and if you're worrying about how to style them, don't - the same rules of accessorising apply! We've featured several real brides in jumpsuits over the last few months, among them, Jill, Sandra, and Louisa.

5. Collared Wedding Dresses

Fashion-forward and edgy or cute and coquettish, collared wedding dresses are back in style, having taken hold in the 1930s and 1950s. These days, anything goes, including halterneck and mesh-panel styles, meaning that you can wear this trend while still showing off some skin!

It's about time we got a new take on the strapless wedding dress! The off-shoulder look can be classic, modern, or boho, but it's always sophisticated and a little bit sexy!

7. Alternative Bridal Cover-Ups

For the longest time, brides were expected to put up with goose pimples on their big day, but no more, thanks to the clever stylists who are pairing wedding gowns with denim or leather jackets, and cosy jumpers!

8. Detached Sleeves

Detached sleeves are everywhere this season, but we're not talking about poofy numbers à la Rachel's prom dress in the '80s throwback episode of Friends (thankfully!). Actually, this trend can be as contemporary or as retro as you like.

9. Wedding Dresses With Overskirts

Wedding gowns have always had overskirts but it's only in the past year or so that they've become a design feature! Such skirts can be detachable (very handy for dancing!) or form part of the dress itself, but either way, they help create a show-stopping silhouette! See Irish real brides Orlaith, Louisa and Jenny for ideas.

10. Colourful Embroidery

We've long been fans of embroidered wedding dresses, but there's something especially gorgeous about multicoloured florals applied to white, ivory or blush pink fabrics! This trend is perfect for brides who want something half way between traditional and edgy.

Looking for something less trendy, more timeless? We've got tonnes more inspiration in our wedding dress section!
