Today's real wedding couple Bimal and Truett are going to steal your heart with their sweet, bursting smiles. They've got the kind of love that's contagious. It’s one of these weddings where not only do you want to grab a cuppa and enjoy their feature, but you also secretly wish you knew the newlyweds well enough to be invited! These lovebirds clearly know how to throw a party, and also know a thing or two about assembling an awesome bunch of suppliers. Just look at their summer wedding line-up: Kilkea Castle as the backdrop for the day, Bella Botanica on floral styling, and Moat Hill Photography working the camera. Let's take a look...
US couple Bimal and Truett both hail from Houston, Texas. Their love story began on the app, Bumble! Bimal was going to delete it because of no luck, and Truett's friends forced him to start and started swiping for him. Bimal was the first date Truett was going on with this app and for Bimal, this was going to be his last date before deleting the app. Talk about timing!
Fast forward 2 years, and Bimal (sneakily, but lovingly!) tricked Truett into thinking he had organised a photographer to capture headshots of Bimal for his business. Instead, he surprised Truett with a 2-year anniversary gift which was a cartoon book of their story with the last page asking him to be his husband, all while the photographer captured the precious moment. How sweet!
Don't this pair look so handsome!!? Truett's plaid suit is by the brand Q Clothier, while Bimal had his striking outfit custom-made in India.
When it came to planning their dream day in Ireland, Bimal and Truett had a strong vision from the outset. "We wanted a castle backdrop as we are big fans of the majestic landscape. We also wanted a place that would be unique and memorable for our guests because everyone came from the US and for most it was their first time to Ireland."
And the perfect venue for their epic castle celebration? The beautiful historical Kilkea Castle in Co. Kildare where the pair fell in love with, "the beauty of the castle backdrop in the gardens and the proximity to Dublin."
Bimal and Truett made sure to spend lots of time together on the day which included getting ready together that morning and having their couples portraits taken before the ceremony. "Being able to spend the morning getting ready together was important to us", they tell us. They add, "We got to talk about things and take a last-minute selfie before heading to the ceremony. We also loved getting our pictures done before the ceremony so we didn't feel rushed after."
Flowers on the day were by Sylvia at Bella Botanica. We love the organic 'living flower' installment which she created for the pair at the top of the aisle.
Describing the look and the overall vibe of the day, the couple say it was, "truly a Fairytale!" They add, "it was very much a fusion wedding: Bollywood meets Downton Abbey. It was important to incorporate both of our backgrounds into the big day."
The pair walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of Sam Smith's "Latch".
Bimal and Truett wrote and recited their own wedding vows, a personal touch that they say was one of their highlights of the day.
The pair had a rather unconventional wedding colour palette vision, but one that was ideal for a summer celebration! Truett tells us, "Bimal is a big fan of tennis and the Wimbledon gardens/colors. We love the deep purples, greens and whites. We wanted it to feel very unique and different from a typical wedding."
When it come to advice for other couples planning their day, the couple say, "Take time to really connect with one another on the big day and really relish in the moment! Spend at least 10 minutes sitting with each other privately after the ceremony if you can."
As the couple took to the floor for the first time as newlyweds they danced to a mashup of, "It Takes Two" by Rob Bass and EZ Rock and "It Takes Two" by Marvin Gaye.
Seriously, don't you wish you were invited?!
After the celebrations the pair headed on Honeymoon to the UK and France. "We went to London for a quick pit stop before heading to St. Tropez and Nice, France. We had a yacht take us out for a day and stayed in some nice Airbnb's during our week-long trip and we had the best time!"
A huge thank you to Bimal & Truett for sharing their epic Kilkea Castle wedding with us, and a huge thanks too, goes to Moat Hill Photography for these wonderful pictures! There are more images below for you to pore over!
