Yesterday we brought you our favourite designer collections from New York and London Fashion Week. Today we bring you what we think are the most wearable trends spotted on the catwalks and how you can incorporate them into your big day to ensure you and your maids are one stylish bunch. From collars to colours we have brought together some very fashion forward ideas to get you winter wedding ready!
Collars - Collars have been trending now for the past few seasons and they're set to be huge in Autumn/Winter 2012 whether they're embellished, detached or in contrasting colours. As seen at: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Victoria Beckham, Preen, Orla Kiely, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Tory Burch. For working this trend into your big day, check out bridal designer Whitney Deal's delicate silk georgette Glea Blouse which features a a satin peter pan collar, paired with the Ruby Skirt the two create a gorgeous on-trend wedding gown. BHLDN's Comme Il Faut Gown from the new bridal collection also features a gorgeous floral collar detail. For bridesmaids, check out ASOS.
Jewel Tones - The New York Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2012 catwalks were full of rich jewel-palettes of emerald, ruby, sapphire and onyx. Spotted at Diane von Furstenburg, Oscar de la Renta, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera and Tory Burch. You too can work this trend by adding a pop of colour with your accessories - how about these gorgeous emerald heels from Kurt Geiger or this jewel-toned bracelet from Forever 21?
Winter Florals - The floral trend that is very much in vogue now right now will hang around right into winter but will have a slightly harder edge like those spotted on the catwalks of Giles Deacon, Temperley London, Christopher Kane, McQ and Maarten Van Der Horst. The BHLDN Frondescence Gown and the Whitney Deal Rosa Dress will ensure your bridesmaids are bang on trend for your winter wedding!
Metallics - We told you this one was tipped for the top when we did our Trends of 2012 and Metallic Cakes posts back in early January! The metallic trend shimmered through numourous catwalks at New York Fashion Week such as Badgley Mischka, Ralph Lauren, Naeem Khan and Marc by Marc Jacobs. Work the trend with BHLDN's shimmering showstopper the Burnished Organza Gown or Monique-Lhuillier's stunning Metallic Gown from the 2012 Resort collection. Maria Lucia Hohan's Danielle and Astrid gowns would look amazing for winter bridesmaids.
Conceal and Reveal - New York designers such as J.Mendel and Vera Wang played with the concept of 'conceal and reveal' layering sheer panels with opaque fabrics. We also featured this trend as part of our Trends of 2012 post with illusion neckline wedding gowns. We think this one will be a biggy when Bridal Fashion Week comes back around.
Red - This shade popped up on several catwalks such as Diane von Furstenberg, Jenny Packham, Marchesa, Michael Kors and Jason Wu. New York designers have deemed the red dress as a trend-worthy choice for autumn/winter 2012. Translate this look into bridesmaids fashion with Monsoon's simple but chic Essouira dress or Coast's Kelly gown which is a stunning shade of red with gorgeous draping ruffle details.
Monochrome - Fashion goes back to black (and white!) with this trend. We predict this will also be a big wedding trend, the simplicity and glamour of black and white makes for a perfect wedding palette.
So, what details were your favourite? Will you or your bridesmaids be sporting any of the trends this winter? We would love to hear your thoughts just drop us a comment below!
