We’ve been swooning over hanging flower installations for a while, but one style that always makes us say "ooh" are the whimsically-named, flower clouds. Where hanging flower installations usually hang downwards or take over an entire ceiling, flower clouds hover above the heads of your guests in a perfect cloud formation that appears to be floating. They tend to be constructed using just one or two types of full and fluffy flowers or foliage, often using smoke bush, hydrangea or gypsophila, in every colour you can imagine, and are designed to create a dreamy focal point for your reception space. We're big fans of this trend love seeing it come through in our real weddings and shoots! One look at the floral inspiration below and we think you will be in love with flower cloud wedding ideas too!

Tips for using Flower Cloud Wedding Decor
- Both flower clouds and hanging floral centrepieces are great for saving space on long tables.
- Has your venue got high ceilings and structures from which to hang the flowers? Barns, restaurant venues and marquees where beams or chandeliers are already in place, are ideal. However, not every venue suits this kind of decor.
- Hanging flower clouds require quite a bit of construction time, make sure your venue allows your florist access and adequate time to build the arrangements.
- Smoke bush, pampas grass, gypsophila (baby's breath) and hydrangeas would all make fantastic floral cloud installation choices due to their full and fluffy nature.
- Flower clouds look just as beautiful when using dried flowers.
- Hire a professional florist to create this look - this is definitely not a DIY/YouTube tutorial type of job!
