The Secret Garden is a timeless tale, that I can't ever recall reading but remember watching on TV as a child. Despite the novel and film being aimed at children, there is huge romance attached to the overgrown secret garden peppered with perfect roses and natural beauty. Today's wedding shoot takes inspiration from the vivid imagery associated with The Secret Garden and as you can imagine it is bursting with beautiful florals, with a dark and mysterious edge. Get ready to fall in love with this childhood classic all over again...
Wedding stylist Betty Williamson incorporated her Secret Garden wedding inspiration into the enchanting location complete with gates hidden behind brambles, overgrown paths and gorgeous roses twisted around gazebos.
The more magical side of the tale is referenced with taxidermy wild animals and grand manor house furniture dotted around the garden. A stunning idea that could be achieved for your own wedding with classic furniture, wild flowers and rich floral décor.
More grandeur was added with soft pink napkins folded as flowers, glamorous gold cutlery, and of course, more lush flowers.
The "key" detailing throughout is another subtle nod to The Secret Garden and would be a lovely (not to mention really easy) way to add some subtle whimsy to your wedding day.

To avoid the inspiration feeling too childlike, the bridal looks were kept quite strong and sophisticated. The femininity associated with The Secret Garden lies more in the accessories: the soft pink makeup and oversized floral crowns.
What do you think, could a Secret Garden wedding theme be the one for you?
