Start spreading the news, we have a new shoot today! Oh New York, New York - we're sure that there will be plenty of sweet dreams to be had after witnessing this whimsical and romantic wedding shoot in the city that never sleeps. Inspired by beloved gardens and all they bestow, Alexandra Barfoot captures the soft and calming colour palette along with the plump, vibrant blooms that casted a floral spell over The Boathouse in Prospect Park, New York. This shoot aims to inspire and we can safely say you will be adding it to your floral Pinterest boards in a matter of minutes. Let's take a look!
This beautiful floral-filled shoot was executed and styled by Sophie Kaye destination wedding photographer and Krystin Gill K Bella Events. Kristin is a luxury wedding planner who creates bespoke weddings through her creative eye, personal touches and to-die-for décor! Soft, romantic hues of peach and blush begin to tease the theme of this garden-inspired wedding shoot. Plump roses, lace detail on the bridal shoes and the crushed velvet ring box all add texture, detail and a luxe touch to the finer details.
No concrete jungle here, as the city's sweet spot was transformed into a fairytale garden of dreams. Set in the spectacular and iconic Boathouse in Prospect Park, New York, the waterfront venue showcased its romantic character with charming historic architecture and floor-to-ceiling arched windows. More blossoming blooms, including lily of the valley and an abundance of greenery surround the ceremony area allowed the natural light to enhance each delicate petal. Nava Floral was the talented florist behind this artful display of florals.
The Boathouse may be nestled amongst the tall city buildings, but is a known treasured gem surrounded by Lullwater pond and a haven of natural beauty. The most idyllic surroundings if you wish to add some magic to your wedding day. Captured to perfection, Alexandra Barfoot recalls shooting in the famous New York City spot: "The setting was idyllic and alongside the extravagant floral details, it was a dream to capture. I was really inspired and hope the images created can inspire Irish wedding couples with their wedding styling!"
Peeling back another detailed layer, we discover the subtly elegant bridal style. The bride's dress gently reflects the theme, with floral lace embellishments throughout her dress. Her off-the-shoulder style represents modernity and playfulness with a regal and classic touch. To finish her look, her hair was simply and loosely pinned back and paired with a statement pair of gold and green earrings. The groom looked timelessly elegant in a black-tie tuxedo. A lavish look completed to perfection.
Gasp! An enchanting tablescape awaits. White-footed bowls filled with pops of pastel florals line the centre of the tables, coupled with tapered candles in antique holders. More textures come in the form of sequinned brocade cloths, fabric napkins tied with silk peach ribbon to mirror the floral colour palette. Some old-world magic peeps through with the use of charger of botanical plates, and boy do they fit in just exquisitely!
To enhance the couple's wedding photographs, the gorgeous florals returned to the spotlight by being placed on the beautiful decking of the Boathouse. As the sun beams down, and the water reflects from behind, this simple re-purposing décor step has completely transformed this beautiful spot. Oh-so dreamy!
