I think it's safe to say that when looking for a fairytale venue, few venues compare to that of a real, Irish castle. The romance, the architecture, the sheer magic of it all, there's simply nothing quite like it. Vahida and Ian's summer wedding in the surroundings of the beautiful Luttrellstown Castle Estate is every bit of a dream. Except it’s actually real! The couple wanted a day that was relaxed, elegant, classic, and filled with style, and oh, the style is just the start of what you’re going to fall in love with at this wedding! From epic florals, and a delectable wedding dessert table to sweet family moments, there was no lack of beauty for photographer and videographer Bart & Magda from Light Creatif to capture. Take all the Irish castle wedding inspiration from these two as you scroll on!
So, first things first, Let's find out a little more about our lovely couple and their love story. Groom Ian is from Dublin and Bride Vahida is originally from Bosnia but has lived in Dublin for the past 28 years, and is where the couple are currently based.
The pair met through work many years ago, they hit it off, and sometime later, Ian proposed to Vahida in the beautiful Farmleigh Estate's Secret Garden where the pair had their first date.
When planning their day, Vahida and Ian's priorities from the beginning were that they had "a relaxed day with both parents, our three beautiful girls and our closest friends and family".
Vahida spent the morning getting ready with both mums, her three girls Safura, Emra, and Isma and her best friend who was her bridesmaid which she recalls as one of her favourite parts of the day. "The memories from that morning I will cherish forever. I also received the most beautiful gift from my bridesmaid Jesenka, she put together so many thoughtful gifts into one and I was blown away by it."
Unfortunately, Covid meant that some of their closest bridal party were unable to attend. "We were heartbroken as one of the bridesmaids Mejra couldn’t make it as her little girl had Covid, and also the best man Dermot was unable to attend due to having Covid too, so we were very upset about that but were able to go ahead with the wedding."
Another of the brides favourite moments from the day was from during the ceremony which was officiated by celebrant Bernadette Dolan. "It had the be the ceremony song ‘She Moved Through The Fair’ as our ceremony took place on the grounds of the castle and the song was performed beautifully by the band, it was just magical."
The couple incorporated a sweet Celtic handfasting ritual into their ceremony. Love this idea? Here's how to do it!
Describing their day, Vahida tells us it was, "just perfect." She adds, "it was elegant, luxurious, romantic and a fairytale come to life."
And the perfect venue for their fairytale day? The elegant Luttrellstown Castle, a wonderful exclusive Castle Estate near Dublin. "We knew it was the place for us once we seen the stunning grounds of the castle and not to mention the castle itself, every room had something unique and classic to it and so the rest was history."
The couple celebrated both their ceremony and reception on the estate.
Vahida's drop-dead gorgeous dress is the Tori gown by Catherine Deane which she sourced at Alice May Bridal. We adore the high neckline, keyhole back, long sleeve and scalloped edged train details. An intricate and delicate lace showstopper not only from the front but from the back too!
She completed her bridal look with a full-length soft tulle veil, and white court heels by Tony Bianco.
The bridesmaids wore green maxi dresses with pleat detail from Chi Chi London.
The sweet flower girl dresses were bespoke creations made by their aunt!
Ian wowed in a bespoke creation by Hunter Treacy Tailors, while the groomsmen rocked their own individual style suits.
The couples love for vintage and classic style inspired their wedding aesthetic which was evident in the bridal party style and details throughout the day. From the gorgeous stationery created by the couples close friend and relative Adel Roche and the delicate calligraphy by Calligraphy by Laura, to the beautiful botanicals and delectable cakes and treats.
As for advice for other couples planning their day? The bride says, "I would say to them to plan well ahead in advance as to what you’d like for your big day and don’t be afraid to be a little picky, try and see everything from the food to the flowers as you only get to do it once, so you want to make sure that you’re 100% happy with everything."
The couple are yet to book their honeymoon but tell us, "the plan is to look at a few tropical places and pencil something in for end of this year!"
The couples first dance was to a slow version of “Show Me Love” by Robyn S. "It was a song that we shared our first kiss to, so it had to be that!" Vahida took to the floor in a show-stopping second lace dress by V. Chapman.
