Moya and Kevin didn't care much about wedding decorations or about colour schemes and unique or complicated ideas. Instead they wanted a big party celebrating their love with the people they love most, including baby daughter Kitty. With this ethos in mind they kept things simple, with impeccable bridal (and groom) style, good food and the perfect venue - the ever popular The Millhouse. Leanne Keaney joined them on the day and captured each joyful moment for us to enjoy...
Kevin and Moya both lived in Stoneybatter in Dublin, and were both on the same dating site - but it wasn't until Kevin called into Moya's place of work that he asked her out. The attraction was instantaneous and after two weeks they knew it was love.
I adore Moya's bridal style - simple hair, simple column dress, Stella McCartney heals and glowing natural makeup. Perfection!
Knowing they were perfect for each other Kevin and Moya talked marriage, with Kevin then proposing at home over Christmas.
With a baby daughter to think about (the adorable Kitty pictured above) Moya and Kevin didn't want to get carried away with their wedding. Instead they set a budget, stuck to it, and kept absolutely everything as simple as possible. As Moya sensibly points out - "people don’t really notice the little things, they notice a happy relaxed couple who aren't stressed about the colour of the bunting."
The setting for Moya and Kevin's chic and simple wedding was The Millhouse, where they held both their low-key humanist ceremony and after party reception. The Millhouse surroundings also acted as the perfect backdrop for some fab portraits with photographer Leanne Keaney.
When we asked Moya and Kevin what made their day special, it was all about the people..."Our little girl Kitty. The people. Family and friends together on the day. Having friends doing the music. Everyone was so kind and happy for us – from our celebrant Eithne to our photographer Leanne and the staff of the Millhouse. Serendipity with the weather."
Moya and Kevin's advice if you'd like to plan a wedding day with a similar vibe? " Invite only those you feel contribute to your lives and those you’ll be comfortable celebrating with on the day." A huge congratulations to you both (and Kitty!) and thanks so much for sharing your wedding day with us all.
A big thank you also goes to Leanne Keaney for sharing her work with us. To see more from Leanne Keaney visit www.leannekeaney.ie
