Kelly and Leandro dated long distance for the majority of their relationship, until they decided that the odd surprise visit just wasn't enough. Moving in together they soon realised they wanted to be together forever and threw "a warm wholehearted celebration with good food and our favourite people." to celebrate. Their "family bonanza" is just bursting with good will and fun, not to mention supreme Pinterest worthy style. Just after finishing school, Kelly and Leandro met through mutual friends, but it wasn't until February 2012 that sparks flew. They began to date long distance, with lots of surprise and not so surprise visits. Eventually Leandro was relocated to Cape Town and asked Kelly to join him. She did, and they've been together ever since.

Knowing Kelly was the one for him, Leandro planned a surprise romantic dinner proposal on a cliff at the 12 Apostles Hotel, however the Cape Town wind failed to co-operate. With the help of the hotel an alternative plan was put in place and Leandro proposed to the gorgeous Kelly in a romantic cabin in the mountains at sunset.

For their wedding Kelly and Leandro wanted to join both their families together for a wedding weekend of fun, food and drinks. They also wanted to reflect their personal sense of style and do things a little differently, which you can see reflected in Kelly's gorgeous hand-made wedding dress and her bridesmaid's gorgeous patterned dresses.

For their wedding venue Kelly and Leandro chose the beautiful Goedgedacht Farm, complete with a dainty chapel which they used for their ceremony.

Importantly the venue was also pet friendly, allowing their adopted dog Annie to attend. Too cute...

Keeping things simple yet chic, Kelly and Leandro decorated the chapel with fresh green foliage and a minimal wreath ceremony backdrop. Very understated, and perfectly suited to Kelly and Leandro's beautiful wedding day style.

Following their vows and a shower of confetti Kelly, Leandro and guests headed outdoors for canapés and lawn games under the Cape Town sun.

Now back to Kelly's stunning and unique wedding dress, which Kelly and her mum altered to suit her. Kelly explains..."I studied fashion design so I have always had the idea of making my own dress. One day while walking the streets of Obz in Cape Town my mom and I popped into a vintage store called “Once Again Wendy’s”. A beautiful lace vintage dress hung from the ceiling. Together with my mom, we dissected it to use the delicate lace (we had a lot of mending to do) for the skirt and made the top from scratch."

Eager to have her bridesmaids in dresses just as special as her own, Kelly asked one of her bridesmaids (who's also a fashion designer) to design floral print bridesmaid dresses for each girl.

Making the most of her talented friends, Kelly asked another friend to design their wedding stationery whilst another close friend designed and set up their wedding website.

The contemporary reception was held in the venue's barn with low hanging lighting, hanging florals and a feast of burgers and chips on laser engraved boards. Perfection...

After their beautiful Cape Town wedding Kelly and Leandro took an adventure honeymoon travelling through Portugal, Seville, Athens, the Greek Islands and Istanbul. As Kelly gushes - "It was a trip of a life time with memories that will last a lifetime."
