Stuff We Love: Rom-coms, Stylish Safety and Gallery Tours

A few of our favourite things this week!

We may all be staying at home for the foreseeable, but we're here to deliver some distraction! Welcome back to Stuff We Love, a weekly smorgasbord of the entertainment, initiatives and ideas enlightening us over the last few days...

1. Love Wedding Repeat

A few weeks back, we brought you a list of our favourite wedding-themed movies to get you through isolation and we've got a new one to add to the list. Love Wedding Repeat is a new release on Netflix, a fun, modern rom-com that mixes Four Weddings with Sliding Doors, and brings it up to date with a cracking ensemble cast attending a fabulous destination wedding in Italy. Light and funny viewing to pass the time, the main reason we love this film though, is that it made us *really* excited about attending weddings again when things get back to normal!

2. We Make Good

It's been really encouraging to see fashion and design companies getting behind efforts to produce PPE in the last few weeks, we've even seen bridal designers like Ines Di Santo and Sareh Nouri making gowns or masks for their local healthcare workers. Closer to home, there are lots of Irish businesses doing great things, and one initiative that caught our eye is social enterprise project We Make Good, who are selling cloth masks made by The Textile Studio - a charity that provides jobs and training to refugee women. For every washable mask you buy, another goes to someone in direct provision.

Visit wemakegood.ie to find out more about the initiative and how the masks are made.

3. Take a Virtual Tour

Museums and galleries around the world are giving those isolating with internet access the chance to get their culture fix at home with virtual tours. Skip the crowds, stroll beautiful spaces and take in iconic works of art, all from the comfort of your couch, with a cup of tea in hand. To get you started, check out the National Gallery of Ireland, Tate Modern, the Louvre, and The Met.
