After a mad couple of weeks (both off on hols at different times) we're just starting to settle down again, and lo and behold it's Friday! - or Freeday as I like to call it.
Looking for an individual and inexpensive gift for your bridesmaids?
Or a pretty yet funky accessory for your wedding outfit? Look no further than Lonkoosh on Etsy. Offering the most gorgeous selection of handmade collage and collar necklaces (very 2010), which combine vintage jewellery and new elements to make pretty, feminine statement pieces. Lonkoosh jewels start from as little as $18 and go up to $70 - pretty reasonable for a gift I'm sure any bridesmaid would treasure.
Ah, there's nothing like the sight of a Caca Milis to set the heart pounding. This is exactly what happened when Sue spotted the new range of wedding cakes and cupcakes from Marks and Spencers while shopping in Jervis. The full range as you can see above is pretty varied but unfortunately only certain items are available in the Republic: the white iced fruit cakes (on 3 for 2 offer at the moment) are great value, come in 4 sizes starting at €13 up to €80 for the largest; cupcakes are good value - 2 for €2.99 and are on offer also (3 for 2) so further savings (yay!). They also have mini cupcakes - 9 for €6.99.
Wishbone Fascinators and Hairpieces
Wishbone is the brainchild (and Etsy shop) of Vanessa, an American designer based in Mayo. Vanessa's collection is a veritable treasure trove of colour and texture - from bright bluebirds, to military style braiding, via silk butterflies, her hair accessories are sure to brighten up any wedding outfit. And although each item is handmade, it won't break the bank - a silk butterfly clip starts at $12, hairbands (like the one above) start at $28 while the fabulous fascinators of feather, net and beading come in around $60. Great prices for something to reinvent an outfit you've worn before.
