Stuff We Love: Chocolate Balls, Lego Pubs and Stitch Sessions

A few of our favourite things this week!

As thrilled as we are about four-person meet-ups, trips to the garden centre, and a little more time outside, we're still bringing you a weekly dose of Stuff We Love - a digital drop of fun things to keep you occupied during your time at home. These are just some of the recipes, events, and initiatives keeping us busy this week!

Oreo Balls

Three-ingredient Treats

I made these last weekend and they were so ridiculously easy and so incredibly delicious that I had to share them. They're three-ingredient, no bake, Oreo balls, made with cream cheese and dipped in chocolate and they taste like some kind of luscious truffles. I came across the recipe on Charlotte Jacklin's website (she's one of our fave Insta follows, FYI) and I already know they're going to be my new go-to for dropping to friends on drive-by visits.

Virtual Stitch Sessions

This is Knit is a charming knitting and crochet shop in the Powerscourt Townhouse in Dublin, which in normal times, is a crafter's haven of yarn, needles, buttons and books with a regular roster of workshops and events. While the store is closed, they've been keeping in touch with their customers through free weekly stitch sessions on Zoom. Whatever level you're at, join Maureen and Joy every Wednesday from 8pm, to chat about your latest project, meet other knitters and pick up lots of tips!

Dublin Bricks

They say some of us have too much time on our hands living in lockdown, but I reckon this one proves what magic can happen when we have the time and space to play! Dublin Bricks is a fun project by product designer Gianni, who's embarking on an ambitious plan to rebuild Dublin, in lego! Starting with his favourite pubs and food spots, so far, he's recreated well-known spots like Burdock's, Anseo, Green 19, Grogan's and the Bernard Shaw, with a remarkable likeness. We might not be able to visit pubs right now, but excited to see where the bricks take us for Lego pints next!
