If you're in search of a special wedding venue, just 40 minutes from Dublin city centre, don’t miss The Station House Hotel's upcoming series of Wedding Showcase events. On Sunday 3rd march and Saturday 9th March from 12-6pm, you can meet the dedicated wedding team, explore the grounds and buildings, and take in the history and uniqueness of The Station House located in the heart of the Boyne Valley in the quaint village of Kilmessan, Co. Meath. This is a venue known for its personal attention to detail and warm welcome, but there is lots more about this historic location that would make it the perfect place for you to say "I do!"

The Carriage Suite Banqueting Room

Dating back to 1862 when it was a busy railway junction, The Station House Hotel, owned and managed by the Slattery family for the last 40 years, has recently undergone a complete refurbishment both inside and out, including its beautiful banqueting room, The Carriage Suite.

What was once the locomotive workshop, is now a whimsical and elegant banqueting hall, seating up to 180 guests comfortably. The garden theme is apparent in this beautiful room, with ceilings adorned with floral and foliage in amongst an array of twinkling chandeliers, whilst each of the windows are dressed with fresh eucalyptus. The Carriage Suite can also be used for the most romantic of indoor ceremonies against a cream linen back-drop and romantic candles framing the aisle.

Outdoor Ceremonies

Nestled in 12 acres of its own private gardens right in the heart of the Boyne Valley Drive, The Station House Hotel not only offers all the luxuries of a beautiful country home but also the stunning views of Ireland's Ancient East. For outdoor ceremonies, The Turntable, located in amongst the forest trees is a mystical setting for the most special of vows. On a sunny day, saying your "I dos" in the middle of the lush woodlands on the grounds would be a truly magical moment for you and your guests. Just think of the pictures!

The Food & Drink

Evoking the charm and magic of the past, The Station House Hotel is known for its warmth and superior service. Shortlisted for Best Restaurant Leinster with Food & Wine Ireland, and described as "superb" by esteemed food critic Lucinda O’Sullivan in 2023, this venue has won numerous awards and accolades for its food and service, including most recently, two Gold awards at the prestigious Gold Medal Awards in January 2024.

The Station House prides itself on using the freshest ingredients, sourced locally as much as possible and home-made to perfection. Through partnerships with local farms including the chemical free and organic Swainstown Farm in Kilmessan village (less than 1km away), Boyne Valley cheese producers, and other micro producers all within a 20-mile radius, you are guaranteed delicious, top quality food on your day.

The Accommodation

Guests get to enjoy a fresh new look from the moment they arrive on the Platform Terrace to the guest bedrooms and as for the bride and groom, they can enjoy the signature Signal Suite for your wedding night, which we think happens to be one of the cutest bridal suites in Ireland.

You also have the option of staying in the Station Master’s Suite, originally the station master’s quarters dating back to 1862. With its original sash windows and panelled walls, it features a roll-top Victoria & Albert stone bath, and window seat, perfect for your pre-wedding photos. All 19 bedrooms are reserved exclusively for your wedding day, comfortably sleeping 39 guests in total, with plenty of local accommodation nearby.
