“Magical Summer Night in an Olive Field": Anun and Enrique

Impeccable style and relaxed yet refined decor

From the terrific style and the atmospheric setting, to the beautiful decor and the meticulous attention to detail, today's real wedding is serving us megadoses of inspiration. Anun and Enrique are a sharply-dressed pair, from the town of Fuengirola, on the southern coast of Spain. They said their vows in a church with a traditional Spanish wedding ceremony, before taking their friends and family to Anun's parents' home for an al fresco feast amid the olive trees. As you'll see from the stunning photos by El Marco Rojo, it made for a pretty special celebration under the stars...

Anun and Enrique are both from Fuengirola, but they met just up the coast in Marbella, “We were in a party when we met, and exactly seven years after that, we got married.”

A bride after my own heart, Anun wanted a bouquet that was wild and unstructured, “The base was wax flowers, branches, white astrantia, eucalyptus and we added a note of colour with a lot of character, using proteas in a reddish tone.”

Enrique proposed at Sohail’s Castle, in Fuengirola, “We celebrated with a proposal dinner at home with all our family. Later that night we were joined by our friends and we had a flamenco group playing music in our home.”

Anun didn't hold back on the drama, with vibrant red bridesmaids dresses for her crew.

These two cuties are letting everyone know that 'Here comes the bride!".

Having a religious ceremony was hugely important to Anun and Enrique, “One of the most special moments was the entrance to the church with my father,” recalls the bride, “The church was full of people and when we were going down the aisle the song ‘Con te Partiró’ by Andrea Bocelli was playing.”

In their traditional Spanish ceremony, the couple were joined at the altar by their parents.

For favours, the couple gave their guests fans for the ceremony, “We also had canvas shoes for the women, so they could dance all night and small bottles with oil from the venue. We designed a large number of details and we had many surprises for our guests.”

The couple found establishing priorities easy and music was a big one. “We spent a lot of time selecting the right artists for each moment. We managed to have a classical quartet that moved everyone in the church, a Cuban group that brought the Latin touch during the cocktail and a local vocalist who entertained throughout dinner, accompanied by guitar and a cajon drum. We had a DJ for the party after the reception.”

“Magical summer night in an olive field” is how the couple have sum up their spectacular wedding, “The big challenge was to transform a typical olive field in something cosy and beautiful. Luckily, our wedding planner Caprichia did a lovely job. They kept the venue’s essence while adding some incredible changes to the location.”

From the linens and the seating to the tall candlesticks and gold cutlery, there's a real laid-back luxury to the styling - and I am all about it!

Attention to detail is evident in every aesthetic element of this wedding! “We designed the seating plan as a vademecum, (a reference handbook) as a nod to my profession as a doctor,” explains Anun. “Our wedding planners designed them in their studio, based on my favourite colour, red, and softening it in combination with peach, pink, soft coral and green tones, using watercolours. They created colourful and delicate floral motifs for us. They also designed our website, in line with these designs.”

The greenery in the bottles is such a simple, yet clever idea!

For the decor, they couple chose a rustic colour palette of olive green, whites, and matte gold, “The basic idea was for the decoration to blend with the environment and enhanced the beauty of the venue and the olive trees. Our wedding planners suggested us to create a transition of styles in the different moments that worked aesthetically. They designed arrangements based on wild greens in the cocktail area - where eucalyptus varieties and olive branches dominated - to finish with a touch of colour in the floral arrangements for the party and the dessert buffet,” explains the bride. “For dinner, we had the elegant minimalism of crystal vases with floating greenery and an abundance of candles. The top table differed from the others with a green and matte gold table runner.”

The couple wanted their guests to be entertained at every turn, “Our wedding was full of details, surprises and a party feel.”

What a spread!

Anun rocked two gorgeous looks on her big day, “My dress was by Marcela Mansergas, I always knew she was going to be my designer, I love her style and she is a nice person. I wore long earrings and a tiara, with diamonds from my mum’s bracelet. My second dress -actually it was a jumpsuit! - was from Inuñez."

The al fresco dinner was a highlight for the bride and groom, “Our bridal party table had 22 people, our friends and family, it was super fun,” Anun tells us, “Another moment was the speeches of my family and friends, especially my brother’s speech.”

The couple’s tip for pulling off such a polished celebration? Recruit the right professionals, “For us it was very important to have our wedding planners in every step, during the preparations and during the wedding. It is important to choose professional suppliers because you will enjoy the preparations and your special day. We would recommended asking your family and friends for their opinion, but in the end, you must choose everything and decide everything for yourselves. Moreover, of course, enjoy it! It’s just one day.”

Compared with their lavish dessert banquet, the couple kept it simple for their wedding cake, “Just white frosting and some olive branches. It was delicious; it had three flavours, red velvet, and chocolate and carrot cake.”

The couple got an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime wedding gift, “Our honeymoon was a gift from the bride’s grandfather. We went to Vietnam, Cambodia and Maldives. We loved it!”

Oh my, every last detail is just exquisite! Thanks so much to Anun and Enrique for allowing us to share their day, and of course to El Marco Rojo for documenting it so beautifully.
