Whatever town or village in Ireland you choose to get married in, there is an abundance of skilled local wedding suppliers who are only too delighted to bring your wedding day vision to life. And one place that has more than its fair share of amazing venues and brilliant suppliers, is Slane, Co. Meath - which is celebrated in today's styled shoot. Bridal hair stylist, Mags O'Brien of Upstyle Funk brought a band of local suppliers together at Tankardstown House to create a chic, luxurious wedding inspiration. Olga Hogan Photography documented the results, and as you'll see, this small Boyne Valley town has some big talent!
Creative director and hair stylist behind the shoot, Mags O’Brien tells us about how her concept came together. “Living in the small village of Slane and working in the wedding industry inspired me to keep it local when organising this shoot.”
A soft chignon upstyle like this beauty will never go out of style.
And of course she was spoilt for choice when it came to finding the right backdrop, “Slane has no fewer than five wedding venues surrounding this quaint village. Tankardstown House is a luxurious exclusive wedding venue which offers the opulence I was looking for. I had worked with some of the team before and we were chatting about a new shoot, I decided to take the lead on this one.”
Olga Hogan Photography was the lady behind the lens on the day, “Olga is a superbly talented photographer and I knew she would capture the day perfectly,” says Mags.
A big bow and bright red lip is such a chic, playful combination - the ponytail brings it right up to date!
The team worked on two looks for the shoot, ”One being playful with a delicious party dress supplied by The Bridal Studio, ponytailed hair and glowy makeup by Asta Kiske MUA,” describes Mags, “The second was more sophisticated contemporary look with smooth lines and classic hair up and exquisite makeup. Jane, our model, fit in so well with the team and modelled beautifully all day.”
Katie from Aster Flowers designed bouquets to suit the both looks, as well as the gorgeous decor elements, “Katie created some beautiful bouquets from greenery, definitely a trend to be watching out for, and a luscious but very simple pink bouquet for the second look,” explains Mags. “Katie did a beautiful table setting and is definitely in her comfort zone here.”
How gorgeous is this gilded edge wedding cake? “I contacted local suppliers for the cake and Anne from Cakes Glorious Cakes did not disappoint. With free reign she was able to create something from her own imagination. It was a work of art! As were the delicious cupcakes she brought for the team!”
Mags tells us, the team at Tankardstown House went above and beyond to help bring the details together, “This amazing venue is a bride’s dream come true with a bridal suite to die for and sprawling gardens to walk around throughout your day.”
