Today's real wedding couple Sorcha and Denis met in secondary school, and after a few encounters in the school hallways Denis plucked up the courage and asked the beautiful Sorcha out. Despite being teenagers they soon realised they were meant to be and spent the next few years falling more in love and growing up together. Totally confident in their relationship Sorcha and Denis decided on a long engagement, followed by a wedding avoiding tradition at Longueville House. All captured by the talented Antonija Nekic for you and I to admire...
Sorcha explains how their school romance began..."Denis and I attended the same secondary school and after many months of fleeting around the subject and nervous chats in the corridor Denis asked me out. Even through the ups and downs of life, we have always known that we were the ones for each other."
Confident in the knowledge that they were meant to be, Sorcha and Denis got engaged after seven years together. In no huge hurry to put a label on their relationship Sorcha and Denis decided on a long engagement. Sorcha explains why, "The engagement for us was a promise that one day we would marry each other but neither of us were in a rush down the aisle. After spending 12 years of our lives growing up beside each other it was an emotional and ecstatic moment to say I do."

On the morning of their wedding Sorcha surrounded herself with her besties, while Denis spent the morning clay shooting in the gardens of Longueville House. A moment that Sorcha now cherishes as one of her favourite parts of the day! You can just sense the excitement in the getting ready pictures...
After perfecting her adorable retro look Sorcha was walked down the outdoor aisle by her dad to How long Will I love You by Ellie Goulding.
Rather than choosing a particular style or theme Sorcha and Denis decided to just pick things they loved and hope for the best. Luckily this pair have wonderful taste and everything from the lush flowers to the rich accents of dark pink work beautifully together.
To compliment her own stylish bridal look Sorcha chose some cute vintage inspired Coast skirts and boat neck tops for her bridesmaids. Super pretty and something the girls could so easily wear again.
The lush peony bouquets were made up by Bloomsday Flowers and have to be some of my favourites that I've seen this year...

Despite all the stunning wedding details and style, Sorcha and Denis's main priority was being together and sharing their day with their best friends. Sorcha explains,"We are forever grateful to so many friends and family for all their help in making it a wonderful day. Involving people was a beautiful way of sharing the day with them (although I think my sister might disagree when we were up till 1am the night before cutting out and tying together order of service booklets!)"
Sorcha and Denis were also hugely grateful to the staff at Longueville House, who made their day as seamless as a wedding day can be. Sorcha gushes - "We viewed many wedding venues over Munster and what set Longueville apart from the rest (apart from the obviously beautiful house, gardens and food) was the outstanding hospitality showed to us. Aisling, Emma and all the staff at Longueville were a pleasure to be around. They treated us and our guests with such care and attention."
 Â
After their meal and homemade wedding cake Sorcha and Denis had their first dance to Paolo Nutini's Growing Up Beside You. Advice wise Sorcha has some very wise words: "Don't do things because you 'have to' or because of tradition. Decide on the important factors and what matters to you both most and make these a priority. Pay attention to details but don’t over obsess, on the day you won't notice with so many loved ones all around you. Try to get everything finished a week in advance so that you can relax the few days running up to the wedding (I wish I had listened to this one myself!) Be realistic about what you can do yourself in terms of DIY and don’t be afraid to call in the professionals when needed. Know what you want but have the confidence to trust in your vendors, it's what they do for a living."
For their honeymoon Sorcha and Denis spent a week in Sicily, soaking up the sun and enjoying finally being husband and wife. A huge congratulations to you both and thanks so much for sharing your gorgeous wedding with us all! A big thank you also goes to Antonija Nekic Photography for sharing her work with us.
