I Do, Me Too! Saturday Selection

Five fab couples, five fab weddings....

Happy Saturday everyone! For this week's Saturday Selection, we have packed in five gorgeous real weddings because, let's face it, one just wouldn't be enough. What else are you spending your weekend doing only lazing on front of the iPad (or is that just me?). Each of these couples celebrated in their own unique way bringing their own tastes and personalities to bear, so whether you're planning a wedding in Italy, a ceremony outdoors, a music-filled extravaganza or a family affair, there's something here to inspire everyone...

Puppy Love

They call it "puppy love", well, kinda, that's where Lucy and James first met at a vetinerary conference in Lancaster! Six years later in May of this year, they got wed in the 18th century Castle Durrow and blessed down the road at St Fintan's Church in Co. Laois. Lucy and James are hugely into Swing Dancing so music was an essential part of their day. The choir during the ceremony was made up of Lucy's friends and family. During the reception, tunes were provided  by the Swinging Bluecats. Lucy changed into a second dress for the first dance with James, with which they wowed the crowd by doing a fabulous choreographed jive number! Phil Voon from Give Us A Goo Photography captured it all. See the rest of their wedding over on his blog.

Sweet Love and Rock'n'Roll

Dublin couple Paul and Gwyn tied the knot last April surrounded by their nearest and dearest with an intimate ceremony follwed by rockin' reception at The Millhouse in Slane. Groom Paul is the lead singer of local Skerries band 'The Black Captain' so their day was also full of music. Not sure if it's Paul or Gwyn who has the sweet tooth by it was sweet treats all round when it come to the reception, because this wedding had no less than 6 wedding cakes! Paul and Gwyn's fun-filled day was captured by Dara Munnis, check it out in full on his blog.

Vintage Glam

Jenny and Tony got married in Inch Parish Church followed by a reception in the magnificent Merchant Hotel in Belfast. Jenny and Tony lived in London for a few years, and as it holds great memories, they got creative and based their table plans and menus around a London underground map. Vintage glam was the order of the day. See it all on Francis Meaney's website here.

La Dolce Vita!

Eimear and Niall met six years ago on a night out in Lillies (I'm sure more than one One Fab Day couple could tell a similar tale!), and decided to tie the knot in La Bella Italia. If you're thinking of an destination wedding in Italy, then this is a wedding must-see. Their gorgeous venue, an eight hundred year old majestic building with amazing views of the Tuscan hills. The cobblestone courtyard was the scene for a beautiful banquet, followed by dancing under the stars. What a dream. See the rest by Couple Photography.

All Together Now

The lovely Rachel and Andrew tied the knot at Ballykealey Manor House in Co. Carlow with a very personal and beautiful spiritual ceremony in the gardens, which included a lighting of candles and pouring of sand to finalize their union. It was a massive family affair with lots of family and friends helping them celebrate their big day and also the couple were very lucky to have the bride's big sister, Ashling of Butterfly Photography to capture all the gorgeous memories of the day. You can see the full blog post with the rest of the images here.
