A Saturday Selection of Irish Real Love Stories

An all Irish selection...

Saturday Selections are up there with one of my favourite posts right after real weddings. I mean, who can ever get enough of real love right!? Today's batch of lovebirds celebrated their real love stories all across Ireland, showing just what a stunning place Ireland is to say I Do. Let's take a look...

Escape to Ireland

Rachel and David are both hail from the US and eloped here in beautiful Ireland with just their parents as they wanted a real taste of Ireland for their wedding. The ceremony was performed by Dara Molloy, who is a Celtic monk living on the Aran Islands and they chose to get married outside by the castle ruins and thankfully the weather played ball. This charming couple love sheep and even sent a special request that photographer Rob Coakley get some shots of them with lots of sheep! Thankfully the wonderful Temple House has over a 1600 of them so it wasn't too difficult a task! The full version of this beautiful wedding (complete with sheep!) is on Rob's blog.

Gatsby Glam at Borris House

Having met while studying at Trinity College, Amy & Fergal made the move to Singapore. Fergal proposed on Bintan Island in Indonesia while on a surprise weekend away for Amy. Organising such a spectacular wedding from abroad can be a challenge. Fortunately in Amy’s mum Bernie, the couple had a wedding planner extraordinaire!  A job really well done with amazing details and great style throughout the  day at beautiful Borris House. The Wild Bunch set the scene with an amazing assortment of flowers to add that finishing touch. It was left to Midnight Sounds to round off the night with a great set to fill the dance floor! Memories of the day were captured by David at Frain Photo and you can see the day in full over on David's blog.

Magic Moments at Bellinter House

Moya & Hugh were determined to make their day personal to them. Their ceremony was held in front of the huge weeping beech tree at stunning Bellinter House, followed by a reception inside. They included so many personal touches at their reception - childhood photos and engagement photos; their cake was a collaboration between both families; and their tables were named after their favourite films.  After dinner, guests were stunned, shocked and awed by magician, Andy James and Gorilla Radio kept the floor full all night long. Carol Sweeney Photography captured the day and you can see more of Carol's work here.

Tears of Joy at Tulfarris Hotel

Kelly and Jake are such a fun and happy couple that their wedding was sure to be a wonderful time. The ceremony was beautiful and Kelly looked gorgeous as she walked down an aisle flanked with elegant flower arrangements, with a smiling Jake waiting at the end. A few happy tears flowed in the church, and they were only the first of the day. At the wedding reception, speeches and a homemade video about the couple brought out a combination of tears and laughter from the wedding guests. Their reception in Tulfarris Hotel was full of delightful touches such as a candy bar and a selfie station as well as a performance by a group of Irish step dancers. This was just the beginning of a long night of dancing, as everyone was happy and excited to celebrate Kelly and Jake's happy ever after. Art Wedding Photography captured these precious moments and you can see the wedding in full here.
