Today's Saturday Selection is taking us to four very different places. We're keeping it close to home with a fun Irish wedding at Tinakilly House in Wicklow, we're going across the world for an elopement on the beach in Hawaii, we're venturing to Potsdam in Germany for a wedding in the woods, and to the South of France for poolside drinks within old abbey walls. Now doesn't that sound like quite the weekend adventure? Let's dive in!
Awardweddings: Anneleen & Victor
Anneleen & Victor are a Belgian couple who journeyed to the South of France for their intimate wedding at Domaine du Beyssac, Cintegabelle. With views of the Pyrenees mountains, the couple hosted just 30 guests in the old abbey setting. Jazz music played in the background of their poolside cocktail reception, and the dinner took place in a wooden hall looking out over the French countryside, the day was adorned with bright florals and colourful paper cranes (a nod to their love of Japan!). And as if the day couldn't be more perfect, Anneleen & Victor had their first dance under the stars and festoon lights - the romance! The whole celebration was photographed and planned by Awardweddings - see more of their work here.
Big Island Love: Dawn & Jess
Jess and Dawn are from (the rather chilly!) Yukon in Canada and while they love where they live, the -40°C temperatures caused them to look towards one of their favourite holiday for their intimate destination wedding. With just their parents and their son by their sides, these two celebrated their love at Kikaua Point Park, Big Island in Hawaii, soaking up the warm, sunny days, and enjoying gorgeous beaches. After spotting Couple Cups online, they brought the photographers into the family fold, capturing all the special moments of their small celebration. See more of Couple Cups' work here.
Into the Woods: Johanna & Chris
Johanna & Chris' nuptials were partly in Berlin, and partly in a forest in Landleben, near Potsdam. This German bride and Canadian groom met backpacking in Central America and have been together ever since. While their ceremony was held in the city, the couple paid homage to their love of nature with a lakeside reception. The groom's mother - a professional cake decorator - made the beautiful cake to tie in with the rustic vibe, and as Julian Gyula Zácsfalvi Photography told us, the sweet couple beamed all day long! See more of Julian's gorgeous images of their wedding day here.
Close to Home: Louise & Peter
This one might be closer to home, but it didn't feel like it! Louise and Peter got married on one of the hottest days of the year in Ireland, with a celebration for 180 of their family and friends at Tinakilly House Hotel. Ironically, their Country Wicklow wedding venue is the sister property of Finca Monasterio in Cadiz, Spain, where Louise's sister got hitched later in the summer. The day was a glamorous affair with gorgeous dresses, and fab florals. The bride's dad got to put his vintage Jaguar to good use, while the groom shared his love of golf, with tables named after his favourite Irish courses. This one was beautifully captured by Martina California - see more of her fabulous work here.
