Saturday Selection: In Their Element

Four beautiful real weddings - inside and out!

As you probably know, we love all kinds of weddings here at One Fab Day! From outdoor ceremonies in pretty gardens, or cosy celebrations tucked away from cold weather, to epic portraits in beautiful locations - the elements often play a big roll in the story behind the real weddings we feature. And in today's Saturday Selection, there's a line-up of gorgeous weddings - inside and out, that have wonderful couples, inspired ideas and sweet stories behind them. So let's have a gander, shall we?

Summer in Springfort: Eileen & Nicole

Eileen & Nicole met through one of Eileen's bridesmaids (who initially warned her off Nicole!) and have been inseparable for the last nine years. Too nervous to hold out for their trip to Orlando, Nicole popped the question early at Rocky Bay in Cork. While Eileen was in the water, she shouted up to Nicole on beach saying, “What are you doing, writing will you marry me in the sand?”. Turns out, she was spot on! The couple married with a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Springfort Hall and a celebration that was relaxed and fun, though alas, Eileen's Harry Potter theme was vetoed! Captured by May 22 Photography, see more of their stylish, emotional day here.

A Happy Day: Leah & Dave

Wisconsin bride Leah and Tipperary groom, Dave met in New York, but brought their friends and family to Waterford Castle for their gorgeous wedding. Leah had always loved the idea of a fairytale castle wedding and got her dream come true when she visited the venue with Dave. The couple said their vows with the castle as their backdrop, enjoyed drinks in the sunshine, and had a reception brimming with personal touches. As for that cute cake, well it was made by the groom himself! Will O'Reilly Photography captured all the love, see all the details from their day here.

A White Wedding: Claire & Ed

Claire & Ed may have had their wedding in the middle of the Beast from the East, but they made it to the church on time (as did Special Day Photography - just about!). Claire is the fourth sister in her family to be wed by the same vicar, Tim at Christ Church in Cheltenham, making for a particularly poignant ceremony. The reception was at Elmore Court in the idyllic Cotswolds Hills, and while the couple and their guests couldn't quite venture outside, the atmosphere indoors more than made up for it! Kerry Romance: Meghan & Chris

We cannot get enough of the dreamy photos from Meghan & Chris' big day. The couple made their way by the Conor Pass on the Ring of Kerry en route to the Dingle Skellig Hotel for a photo session with Andrew O'Dwyer Photography - and as you can see the views are pretty epic (they met a group of bikers while they were there too!). The couple did some Irish dancing for their guests in the garden outside the hotel, before heading indoors for an evening of dinner and dancing. See more of the story behind their day here.
