Saturday Selection: The Great and Gorgeous Outdoors

Four beautiful reasons to take your big day outside!

If you and your other half love an outdoor adventure, it's extremely likely that you'll want nature to play a role in your big day. So, in today's Saturday Selection, we're sharing four swoonworthy real weddings featuring unique landscapes, be they wild cliffsides in Ireland or rugged dirt roads in Cyprus. If you're dreaming of an outdoor ceremony, a creative portrait session, or a windswept first look, these beauties will offer tonnes of inspiration. So let's take a closer look, shall we?

Wild and Free (With Sensible Footwear): Hayley & Spencer

How cute are US couple Hayley and Spencer!? With the help of event planners Waterlily Weddings, they had an unforgettable elopement in Doolin, Co. Clare, starting with a romantic first look at the ruins of Killilagh Abbey. After a stroll in the gloriously handsome Irish countryside (you just can't beat the scenery in West Clare!), they headed off to Newtown Tower in Ballyvaughan, where Celtic Monk Dara Molloy performed their ceremony. Hayley and Spencer earned extra cool points for their matching Dr. Marten boots, which are a must in this part of the country! Their wedding was captured by Awake and Dreaming Photography and we can totally see their earthy, relaxed style inspiring lots of other elopements - click here to see the day in full!

Chic in Cyprus: Laura & Barry

It's photographs like these that make me (and, I imagine, every engaged couple!) daydream about having a destination wedding. Joined by only their closest friends and family members, as well as the team from Timeless Photography, Laura and Barry had a laid-back and pint-sized celebration in the Cyprian sun at the Vasilias Nikoklis Inn in Paphos. This was a DIY affair through and through, so they kept things simple when it came to the florals to the table décor, sticking to a clean colour palette of greens, blues and white. And I think we can all agree that Laura's Grace Love Lace dress and peony corsage is boho perfection. Click here to see more details from their day.

Cliffside Beauty and A Very Special Cameo: Katherine & Michael

Getting to hold a baby lamb on your big day is officially #weddinggoals thanks to this gorgeous pair, who travelled all the way from the US to tie the knot in Co. Kerry! Bringing with them about a dozen of their nearest and dearest, they spent the day at Ballintaggart House, and had a truly epic cliffside ceremony against the backdrop of Slea Head. The soft lines of Katherine's gown provide such a delicious contrast to the wild Kerry landscape - some of the photographs look like stills from a movie! You'll find the full set of photos over on Sean and Kate's website, but the lamb portrait is easily my fave and I think the couple agree with me - they've got it framed in their home!

The First Days of Spring: Lydia & David

Lydia and David's big day at The Millhouse in Slane was full of springtime charm (we're particularly taken with their pretty, vintage-inspired florals) but my absolute favourite moment from their wedding relates to a particular wedding portrait! EF Creative Wedding Photography had Lydia and David, along with both sets of parents, line up on the steps of The Millhouse for a post-ceremony kiss, and the resulting image is giving us all the feels! The venue is chock-full of cool, industrial spaces, so Millhouse couples are guaranteed a very special set of photographs once their big day is over, and Lydia and David were no exception!
