I'm thrilled to share today's inspiration shoot with you all as it is one of true natural beauty. Taking inspiration from the incredible Abruzzo landscape in central Italy, Simona of Zonzo embraced the traditions and colours to create a stunning authentic Italian wedding inspiration. With the coast as a backdrop, the talented team of creatives known as Comitato Feste combined old Italian traditions of wedding banquets in rural villages with modern and eclectic rustic style, and the results are breathtaking. So switch off for 20 minutes and indulge in a little Italian fantasy...
To start with the location was quite simply incredible, a part of Italy you just don't see everyday. The beautiful B & B, Bagni Vittoria and Piccolo Circolo Garibaldino set the scene for a romantic rustic romance with their magnificent terrace on the Adriatic sea overlooking the cliffs of Casarsa and surrounded by olive trees - Heaven in anyone's books...
Autumn in Italy has always inspired artists and dreamers , with its rich colors and its meditterean atmosphere, at that time of year, nature is preparing for winter and the landscape is filled with rich autumnal colours. The team wanted to use these colours as a palette against the stark and raw coastline.
The bridal gown has the essence of understated elegance mixed with boho charm. Made specifically for Emanuela who took part in the photo shoot by Rosanna Priori of Haute Couture brides Atelier who used traditional techniques, the dress is vintage-inspired and made of traditional fabric and embellished with dropping pearls.
With the natural beauty of the landscape being a massive element to the shoot, the bridal makeup was kept minimal, using blush pinks and highlighters to enhance the already beautiful bride.
The backless design of the wedding gown is a show stopper, bringing a little bit of glam and modernity to the authentic shoot.
For the groom style, the tone was casual with a light linen suit and dark brown brogues. The designer of the wedding dress also designed a two-tone olive coloured bow tie. Of course it was all about the groom's personal style on the day which let's face it was pretty stylish and cool - Check out that beard!
The Abruzzi countryside were in the middle of their olive harvest at the time of the shoot, so the colours of the season played a roll in the table setting.
The palette captured all the colors of Abruzzo, from the deep blue sea, the green pastel olive leaves , the vitality and citrus tones of the orange mandarins against the backdrop of the white washed beach.
What I love about this wedding table is the natural raw wood against, pretty ornate glassware and silver ornaments. Instead of a full floral arrangement the green olive leaves and foliage decorate the centre of the table and the oranges add a pop of colour, keeping it muted, creating a rustic table with a decadent touch.
Sticking to traditions the team added doilies made by hand using the traditional Abruzzese technique of tombolo (bobbin lace).
How amazing is this scene, the rustic table setting outlined by the blue of the sea and framed by green of pine trees and tamarisk...
Piccolo Circolo Garibaldino provided the vintage and unusual items that made up the table decor including the silver animal head ornaments (which I love and want for my own house!)
While the palette is rich with lush Autumn foliage, the table is decorated in contrasting glass chandeliers from the late nineteenth century which, together with the collection of vintage bottles, gave light to the set, creating a warm and vibrant feel.
I'm sure you'll all be dreaming of an Italian elopement like me for the rest of the day after seeing the beauty and style of today's inspirational photoshoot. A huge thank you goes to Zonzo and all the suppliers for sharing their work with us at One Fab Day, we are truly inspired...
