White and Gold: A Royal Wedding Colour Palette

Everything you need to put together an elegant and regal wedding!

Anyone else still on a high from the royal wedding? Honestly, we're kind of devastated that it’s over! I think we can all agree that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry organised a breathtaking wedding day, so to keep the good vibes going a little longer, we've put together a Royal Wedding colour palette inspired by the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their special day. This is an elegant, muted palette with off-white, cream and gold tones, all combining to create a beautifully timeless wedding. It's definitely wedding you dreamed of as a little girl!

  • The Stationery: Choose an off-white suite with regal touches, such as ornate fonts and gold detailing.
  • The Dress: Meghan's fitted, bateau-neck gown was designed by Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy Haute Couture Atelier and was accessorised perfectly with a diamond bandeau tiara, simple diamond earrings and a stunning monarch-length, bespoke floral veil. If you're looking to follow in Meghan's footsteps, you're in luck, because we've gathered 13 beautiful lookalikes in this handy post! If not, there are countless other options out there - most minimal modern or classic styles suit this colour palette.
  • The Bouquet: Meghan's all-white posy of flowers (including blooms that Prince Harry picked!) featured Forget-Me-Nots, sweet pea, lily of the valley, astilbe, jasmine, and astrantia. It also included a sprig of myrtle, which is a royal tradition. To get the look, ask your florist to create a small, naturalistic bouquet using white florals and greenery.
  • The Flowers and Décor: Floral designer extraordinaire Philippa Craddock created some spectacular English Garden-style floral arrangements for the church, featuring branches of beech, birch, and hornbeam, along with white garden roses, peonies, and foxgloves. You may not be able to get married at St. George's Chapel, but you can choose a venue with regal interiors and antique furniture, and adorn the space with classic arrangements of larger-than-life florals. For a truly special touch, use a mix of round and long tables, draped with beautiful white linen, set with gold-rimmed plates and glassware.
  • The Cake: Harry and Meghan's chic confection was a simple trio of elderflower and lemon buttercream cakes, topped with fresh peonies and greenery, created by Claire Ptak of Violet Bakery. We showed you how to make your very own elderflower and lemon buttercream cake in this handy post.
