Retro Romance: Aoife & Sean's Irish Castle Wedding

Vintage lovers will love this wedding party style!

This real wedding showcases unique style full of vintage flair! Aoife and Sean, always knew in their hearts that they would begin their marriage in Tralee, Co. Kerry, at a beautiful castle wedding venue close to home and brought their own personal touches to the styling. We were so smitten by the vibrant blossoms, retro bridesmaid gowns, and timeless bridal design that we wanted to share it with you. Shane Turner captured all the magic on the day and shares the gorgeous portraits below.

Aoife and Sean, our lovebirds, first met during the Christmas festivities in their home town. Little did they know then that in exactly five years' time, they would be back in Tralee saying their 'I dos' as husband and wife! Aoife recalls the special proposal moment as "nice and relaxed, with just the two of us, out in the garden of the Brehon Hotel in Killarney!"

Sean, our groom, and his dapper groomsmen opted for a stylish shade of cool grey in three-piece suits. They paired the ensembles with crimson red bow ties and fluffy floral buttonholes.

Aoife the beautiful bride was sradiant with vintage style! The wedding gown was embellished to perfection with intricate beading detail around her décolletage, and was complemented by Hollywood waves and a bold red lip colour and winged eyeliner. As for the breathtaking florals, the bouquets were bursting with a selection of colourful garden wildflowers which created a cheerful pop of colour.

The newlyweds recall some special touches from their wedding day: "All the effort, love, and support from family, and friends, really made the day for us! Our priorities were to be happy, enjoy each other, and have fun with all our guests, who made an effort to join us, on our very special day!"

The Co. Kerry wedding venue that hosted 190 of Aoife and Sean's guests was the charming Ballyseede Castle. "It is so magical, unique, classy, and vintage and we just always knew that this would be the right venue for us!" they say. Inspiring their wedding aesthetic was simple, they desired an effortless look, with small pretty minimal touches around the castle and the atmosphere created was the perfect mixture of romantic, magical and moody.

A ceremonial sword for cutting the wedding cake - what else would you expect in a castle? The minimalist three-tiered cake was dressed with peach flowers. After the cake, they took to the dancefloor for the first time as husband and wife and shared their first dance to Give It Up.
