If you’re in the mood for a summer wedding with gorgeous rustic details and sweet, modern elements, then Camille & Maxime's charming celebration in France, captured by Photography by Chloe, will be right up your street! The couple chose to hold both their ceremony and reception at Le Morimont, and, honestly, their day is what rustic wedding dreams are made of! There’s an amazing gown for you to dream over, a beautiful ceremony backdrop, and dried and pressed flower details, oh and the stone barn reception is positively Pinterest-worthy!
Originally both from Paris, but now based in Strasbourg, today's real wedding couple Camille and Maxime first met in 2010 at the beginning of their medical school studies at Kremlin Bicêtre, before becoming a couple in February 2011.
Fast forward to June 2019, and Maxime proposed at home on the terrace of their apartment in Strasbourg while they enjoyed an evening drink.
We're big fans of the couple's wedding stationery which features one of the hottest stationery trends right now: Vellum. We love all the extra details such as the navy blue wax seals and leather tie.
When it came to finding the perfect venue for their celebration, the couple wanted to find a space filled with charm. And the perfect spot for their sweet day? Le Morimont, a beautiful rustic venue in the Haut-Rhin department in Alsace in north-eastern France.
The pair opted to do a sweet first look before the ceremony. A great way to easy any nerves on the day.
The couple fill us in on their dream venue, "We immediately fell in love with the Morimont. The place is beautiful, very poetic and has many advantages: The fact that it is rural, with a magnificent view for the secular wedding was wonderful, also the fact that we can accommodate about fifty people on site, from Friday to Sunday, but with the possibility of extending to the following week (which we did with part of the family) was very practical and unique among the different wedding venues we visited. We loved all the flowers in the venue's gardens which was an added advantage. The fact that it was out of the way, with no neighborhoods or time limits for partying was also a very nice feature."
Overlooking the scenic views of the French countryside and the Alsatian mountains, surrounded by beautiful flowers and foliage, the wedding ceremony was as picturesque as it was unique.
The couple tells us their favourite parts of their day were "The ceremony written by our witnesses, as well as all the speeches of our relatives. There were some very moving moments and made the day really special."
After an outdoor cocktail party in the courtyard, the bride and groom along with their 170 guests enjoyed a dinner reception in the candlelit barn before continuing the evening on the dance floor until the early hours of the morning!
Camille's beautiful boho lace gown is by the French bridal designer Elsa Gary. We just adore that delicate French Chantilly lace sleeve detail.
She completed her boho bridal look with a back necklace which she sourced on Etsy and gold heels by Pied de Biche
The bridesmaids wore mix-and-match red bridesmaids dresses which the bride sourced on JJ’s House
Describing their day, the couple says it was, 'full of emotion and centered around love, of course. The style was chic and casual, summery, floral, and bright'.
How gorgeous is this table plan! Pressed dried flowers were integrated in the table plan frames, as well as the table number frames and the bride and groom's place card frames all handmade for the couple by their stylist.
The colour palette for the day was a symphony of pink, nude, peach, and navy blue.
The reception area was filled to the brim with candles creating a warm and romantic atmosphere.
As for advice for other couples planning their day, the couple say, 'Hire a wedding planner, who is present on the day. We believe this is essential for the bride and groom and the guests to enjoy the day to the fullest.'
After the celebrations the couple went on a minimoon to Italy before heading on their main honeymoon to Norway. 'We went to Italy for 4 days at Lake Maggiore right after the wedding, which was not far from the wedding venue. Then we went to Norway for 3 weeks a few months later. We really recommend to do this: go for a few days right after the wedding to stay on the clouds and rest, but save the real honeymoon for later, to enjoy it better: the brain is so full of positive things, after the wedding, that we had the feeling to walk around with a smile on our face without really enjoying the place. Moreover, the drop in stress levels after the wedding generates a great tiredness and is less favourable to visits and discovery of new places. So: honeymoon 2 times!'
The couple wanted to make sure their first dance went smoothly so hired the talents of a wedding choreographer to open the reception. They performed a stylized waltz to the music "Merry Go Round Of Life" from the soundtrack of the Japanese anime "Howl's Moving Castle"(Miyazaki).
Merci beaucoup to the lovely couple and to Photography by Chloe for allowing us to share their special day.
