Rebekah and Stephen, have known each other since they were very young, and these childhood sweethearts created a bond that resulted in a day filled thoughtful details that honoured their love story. Alongside their three beautiful dogs, our real wedding couple tied the knot in an idyllic country house setting in Northern Ireland with 97 of their nearest and dearest. The personality that was injected into this day was endless, and the guests were treated to an abundance of games and fun that will leave you with so much wedding inspiration! Sasha Treanor Photography captured all the gorgeous photos, so don't delay a second more to get swooning!
Let us first begin by introducing the most adorable, and stylish, fur babies - Polly, Bella and Ted!
Rebekah and Stephen have known each other their entire lives, as both their families are members of the same church. "Our families knew each other very well, safe to say we definitely were not strangers. Stephen had gone away to work in London for almost four years so we hadn’t been in contact or seen each other. It was a sunny July day and we were both out and about with our friends when we bumped into each other. Something had changed between us in those four years, Stephen asked me out for a date a few weeks later and the rest is history!" says Rebekah.
The couple are passionate about hiking. When it came to the proposal, Stephen ensured one of the most memorable days of their lives would involve what they love doing together as a couple! "We were hiking in the Mournes that day. We had brought our tripod to get a few pictures, and found a perfect spot with a stunning backdrop. Stephen set up the tripod and was taking ages, unknown to me he was actually setting his phone up to take a video of it all. When he got down on one knee I burst out laughing thinking he was joking until he produced the engagement ring from his pocket!" she says.
A personalised record player with a picture of the happy couple was gifted to the groom the morning of the wedding as a very unique and meaningful present. Whilst the groom was unwrapping his gift, the ladies popped Champagne in their matching bridal robes and toasted the beginning of a new chapter for the beautiful bride!
The beautiful mother of the bride was radiant in a pastel pink shade for her daughter's big day! The ceremony took place in St John's Parish Church of Ireland, in Markethill, where trere were many personalised touches awaiting the guests, beginning with a rustic welcome sign and goodie bags with a running order of the day clipped to it, followed by mountain-themed confetti cones and mass booklets starring their doggies!
As for their biggest priority when planning the wedding day, it was to ensure they began their chapter as husband and wife in a traditional church. One of their favourite ceremony readings was the poem Blessing of The Hands by Rev. Daniel L. Harris. They also wanted to stay in line with a country theme, ensuring they were surrounded by good friends, and family so they could make everlasting memories to cherish for the rest of their lives.
Arriving in style, the bride tribe pulled up in an ivory vintage camper van! The ceremony entrance was decorated with a beautiful floral arch, bursting with autumn blooms and peachy tones, and of course, beaming smiles from the wedding party who took full advantage of the picture-perfect spot moments before the ceremony began.
The couple loved beginning the day getting ready at their parent's houses. "A lot of our friends helped out along the way from Bible readings to our good friends Gary and Megan making our bespoke entrance design. Stephens's cousin, a talented pianist was a special touch playing at the ceremony," they say.
The autumnal wedding day was summed up as super relaxed! "We wanted it to reflect us as a couple and wanted people to say: 'This so Stephen and Rebekah!' We went for a more country look and theme. Our venue really did all the talking for us!" At very first glance Larchfield Estate in Co. Antrim was the one for them. "We wanted a really chilled venue and it ticked all the boxes. The country vibe was perfect and the staff we so friendly we knew it was the one!"
Guinness in a champagne glass, now that's doing things your way! We approve! The style on the day was exquisite from this gorgeous bunch! The bridesmaids wore satin-smooth olive green wrap dresses, paired with loosely-tied autumnal bouquets! The gentlemen sported navy suits, whilst the dapper groom stylishly stood out in a checked grey number.
On to the belle of the ball, our beautiful bride Rebekah! She opted for a long-sleeve beaded gown from Pollardi that showcased ad reamy deep V-backline. The mermaid gown, glistened with embellishments from head to toe, while her pearl headpiece topped off the look by adding a touch of pearly glamour! We love her Charlotte Mills bridal shoes, personalised to perfection with a touching verse on the soles of the shoes.
The guests were greeted with an entertaining selection of fun games, free-flowing personalised drinks, drool-worthy ice cream cones and wonderful music while the couple snuck off to capture precious moments together on the idyllic grounds of the wedding venue.
There were more little personal gems dotted around the venue such as a polaroid camera guest book, flip-flops and more goodie bags dedicated to their guests' pooches!
When it came to solid wedding advice, the couple wanted to pass these words of wisdom to couples who are embarking on their wedding planning journey: "Remember this is the first day of the rest of your lives together. Everything should be about you and your partner. Enjoy every part of it!"
The country house wedding venue was decorated in twinkling fairy lights, candleabras were garnished with autumnal wedding flowers, draped terracotta ribbons and flickering candlelight. As a sweet token, individual bags of Percy Pig sweets, were given to each guest as a pre-dinner nibble and wedding favour.
The buttercream beauty of a wedding cake, finished with perfectly placed florals stood in all its glory on a rustic wooden slice and was topped off with yet another amazing personalised element, a cake topper! Meanwhile the divine floral arch, that enhanced the ceremony entrance, was re-purposed back in the venue as a backdrop for more joyful photos!
The wedding speeches produced an abundance of laughter and smiles, along with what it looks like, a custom-made cycling top? Awesome!
Once the delightful wedding day came to an end in beautiful Northern Ireland, the newlyweds packed their bags and continued the celebrations on their honeymoon! in the Maldives "We would definitely recommend, just being able to chill out in the sun, surrounded by pure luxury after such a manic time is bliss."
The epic sparkler tunnel - the perfect ending to capture the last of the wedding day moments! A very special thank you to Rebekah, Stephen and Sasha Treanor Photography for sharing this beautiful wedding day with us all at One Fab Day!
