As we wrap up 2018 here at One Fab Day, we're looking back over the past 12 months of real weddings, and what a year it's been. We've featured elopements, destination nuptials, same sex weddings, and both alternative and traditional vows steeped in gorgeous details. And all week, we'll be sharing some of the highlights. Today we're starting with the One Fab Day team's favourite real weddings of the year. There's no such thing as a perfect wedding, no 'best' or 'worst', but there are often weddings that resonate, whether it's the photography, the venue, the style or, more often than not, the story behind the couple themselves. These are the ones that left their mark in 2018...

"The girls in the office will tell you, I like the finer things in life, and this wedding was simple, yet sophisticated. The style, the flowers, the venue, it was all beautiful. I love the elegance of a black tie wedding, and every time I look at this one, I just want to get dressed up, and grab a glass of bubbly."

"This wedding was one of my favourites because it's in Luttrellstown, a venue will always have special significance for me - it's where I got married! I just loved all the details in this wedding, the couple went to so much effort. The decadent food, the beautiful flowers, they decorated the venue very differently to me, and I just love the way they did it."

"I will always have a soft spot for a city wedding but this is a gem from start to finish! The bride's dress and incredible hat, the bridesmaid ensembles, the stroll around the city - all super relaxed and outrageously stylish! They just look like they had the best time ever which is what it's all about!"

Susan's Pick: Mere and Will's fun Dublin wedding at Medley by JAM Shoots. See their celebration in full here.

"I loved this wedding for all its colour! The bride, Mere's look was so unique, but she wasn't the only one rocking a bold look with her bright cape, her groom, Will got in on the act too with his cool burgundy suit. Dublin weddings always look stylish, and this one certainly delivered on that, but even better, this pair looked like they had the most fun day out too."

"This was one of the first real weddings of 2018, and right away, I knew that it was going to be my favourite of the whole year! Lais and Patrick's big day proves that elopements can be just as fun and stylish as any big-scale bash. I love that they ditched any traditions that didn't appeal to them, and focused on what was important to their relationship, particularly music, which provided inspiration for everything from the flowers to the stunning ceremony location. The portraits with their two pups, Benmont and Ofelia, are also unreasonably cute!"
