As we wrap up 2018 here at One Fab Day, we're looking back over the past 12 months of real weddings, and what a year it's been. We've featured elopements, destination nuptials, same sex weddings, and both alternative and traditional vows steeped in gorgeous details. And all week, we'll be sharing some of the highlights. Today we're starting with the One Fab Day team's favourite real weddings of the year. There's no such thing as a perfect wedding, no 'best' or 'worst', but there are often weddings that resonate, whether it's the photography, the venue, the style or, more often than not, the story behind the couple themselves. These are the ones that left their mark in 2018...
Sarah, Business Development Manager
Sarah's Pick: Dominic and Alex's cool tipi wedding at the Tap Room at Hilden Brewery photographed by Elijah & Susannah. See the wedding in full here.
"The dress, hair, location , flowers and details. I loved every single thing about this real wedding! The boho vibes are right up my street."
Tatum, Commercial Director
Tatum's Pick: Úna and Luke's effortlessly elegant wedding at Castle Leslie by Weddings by Kara. See it in full here.
"The girls in the office will tell you, I like the finer things in life, and this wedding was simple, yet sophisticated. The style, the flowers, the venue, it was all beautiful. I love the elegance of a black tie wedding, and every time I look at this one, I just want to get dressed up, and grab a glass of bubbly."
Áine, Business Development Manager
Áine's Pick: Katie and Dan's destination wedding in Ireland, with a ceremony at Killruddery House and a reception in Luttrellstown Castle, captured by Bruno Rosa Photography. See the wedding in full here.
"This wedding was one of my favourites because it's in Luttrellstown, a venue will always have special significance for me - it's where I got married! I just loved all the details in this wedding, the couple went to so much effort. The decadent food, the beautiful flowers, they decorated the venue very differently to me, and I just love the way they did it."
Lucie, Office Administrator
Lucie's Pick: Rebecca and Renzo's stunning wedding at L’Agnata di De André in Sardinia, photographed by Antonio Patta. See the wedding in full here.
"The berries, the macramé, the burgundy florals, the grazing tables laden with meat and cheese, her gorgeous makeup, the al fresco dining, the beautiful table decor, their naked cake... I could go on and on and on..."
Joanna, Marketing Manager
Joanna's Pick: Orlaith and Mike's cool Cork City wedding with retro style by Magda Lukas Photography. See their bash in full here.
Susan, Creative Director
Susan's Pick: Mere and Will's fun Dublin wedding at Medley by JAM Shoots. See their celebration in full here.
"I loved this wedding for all its colour! The bride, Mere's look was so unique, but she wasn't the only one rocking a bold look with her bright cape, her groom, Will got in on the act too with his cool burgundy suit. Dublin weddings always look stylish, and this one certainly delivered on that, but even better, this pair looked like they had the most fun day out too."
Celina, Deputy Editor
Celina's Pick: Lais and Patrick's romantic Donegal elopement by This Modern Love. See their party for two in full here.
Claire, Editor
Claire's Pick: Aisling and Jackie's literary-themed wedding at Barnabrow House by Into the Light. See their day in full here.
"Aisling and Jackie's day was just all my favourite things about weddings rolled into one - the attention to detail in this one was phenomenal. A head over heels in love couple, phenomenal style, fun, personal touches, spectacular flowers and beautiful styling. Not to mention the dreamy photography by Into the Light."
