The month of May is a month of love, and today's lovely real Dublin wedding of Jessica & Declan on May 27th this year certainly lives up to that promise. Jessica & Declan wanted their wedding to be intimate, personal, and full of beautiful details, so they chose to be married in the Unitarian Church on St. Stephen's Green with a reception just across the park in the Shelbourne Hotel. Jessica's bridal style was a romantic mix of vintage and boho-ethereal with her hair left long and waved - and wait til you see her wedding dress!

The intimate and softly shot wedding photographs are the work of Eric from Biggerpicture, and we are delighted that he asked us to share them with you...

When Jessica and Declan planned their dream wedding they were clear about what they had in mind  "We wanted something unusual and elegant, but not too stiff and formal." So a ceremony in the Unitarian Church was an obvious choice, the Unitarian Church is a non-credal church, so it is open to all faiths and beliefs  - as the website explains "all who wish to worship in a spirit of freedom, reason, and tolerance. We do not have a test of beliefs or faith nor any ceremony of admittance." So for those who want more flexibility and personalisation in a religious ceremony, it's a great choice. Jessica was delighted they chose to have their wedding there "the ceremony at the Unitarian Church was really beautiful and moving, very different from other weddings I’ve attended."

Jessica chose to keeping the wedding colours simple and fresh - lots of ivory, cream and green, with a pop of purple freesia in her bouquet, allowed her gorgeous satin gown from Anabel Rose to shine. A sleek silhouette, with a slightly vintage-30s dropped waist with lots of embroidered detail that she has the figure to carry off beautifully.

Jessica looks so serene and happy before leaving the house for the ceremony at  Unitarian Church on St. Stephen's Green and it turned out to be her favourite moment of the day - "Walking up the aisle in the church. I was nervous but ecstatic!"

Stephens Green Wedding

As a generation of brides we are so lucky - the advent of digital photography has increased the number of beautiful effects and styles possible hugely, so a good professional photographer can really make magical images, like these beautiful washed, almost sepia style portraits of Jessica.

After the ceremony, the happy couple and their wedding party went for a quick stroll across the green to the Shelbourne Hotel for the wedding reception. A few photos were taken along the way in the green, but as we all know, Irish weather is unpredictable to say the least, and despite being the end of May, the wind picked up so everyone hurried on inside for partytime.

Loving Jessica & Declan's brilliant best man - he seems to be a real riot, having a great time in all of the photos!

The Shelbourne Hotel is a Dublin institution, around for over 100 years, so for a stylish couple after a little glamour and sophistication then a wedding at the Shelbourne will tick all the right boxes. As you can see Jessica's

Wedding Cake Roses

Jessica has a special love for diy and personal wedding details, and a family tradition took pride of place on the cake...

"My mother gave me a small vase to put on top of our wedding cake which was originally bought for my grandmother on her wedding day because her cake had arrived with no decoration on it. My mother had it on her wedding cake and I had it on mine too, so it’s a family tradition now."

So having gone through your own One Fab Day what advice would you give to other brides and grooms?

Plan as far in advance as possible so that you’re not worrying about anything on the day. Keep it simple — the day will fly by and once you’re there all the tiny details will be the last thing on your mind. Allow yourself space to enjoy each moment rather than worrying about favours, chair covers, the speeches, the first dance etc!

Huge Congratulations and thanks to Jessica and Declan, we're honoured to share your day with everyone. And of course big thanks to Eric from Biggerpicture.ie - loving those vintage style portraits, and if you are too, head over to Biggerpicture.ie to see more of Eric's wedding and portrait photography.
