Edel and Aaron first met at nineteen when they both started university in Dublin... We met through a mutual friend and after a few weeks Aaron plucked up to courage to ask me out and of course I was delighted!

After college and a four year stint in the UK the pair returned to Dublin and Aaron surprised Edel with a romantic proposal, so sweet!

Edel and Aaron headed back to Edel's home county of Donegal to say I do.

Edel chose wisely when she chose her maid of honour, her super creative sister Maggie was a star performer who helped her along every step of the way. The pair were crafty queens when it came to the decor of the whole day, starting with the church flowers..."Myself and my sister used beautiful wild flowers and gorgeous dried Provence lavender that Aaron’s mum brought home from France to decorate the ceremony."

Edel and Aaron both live in Dublin but knew they wanted to celebrate their wedding in Edel's home county of Donegal...It was important that our wedding would be relaxed and personal as most of our guests had to travel to the wedding. So wanted a venue where they would feel at home and relaxed for the whole weekend. We also really wanted a venue that would be all ours for the big day!

Rathmullan House was the perfect venue for the pair as it has that comfortable homely feel of a  beautiful old country house, and with their exclusivity policy  plus they could make it their own for the weekend. With tranquil gardens and a open style house it was the perfect place for their guests to chill out and relax.

Love this quaint boathouse, very cute! Edel and Aaron made the most of their surroundings when they went for their photoshoot with the talent Darek Novak, don't they look happy?

The pair wanted a relaxed and intimate vibe on the day, with lots of fun, of course! Edel took inspiration from the 1930s adding some vintage elegance throughout the day, with the stationery especially designed with Art Deco fonts to give that olde worlde feel.

Edel is a crafty girl with a passion for vintage finds, with the help of her super creative sidekick and  sister, Maggie (who designed all the stationery!) the wedding was a perfect combination of vintage elegance and 1930s glamour... It was also lots of fun collecting vintage props to bring together the vintage feel for the big day. I found the most amazing 1930s typewriter on ebay, and Maggie set this up as a guest book for our guests and it went down a treat!

The pair kicked off the party with a bang, with a champagne fountain built with vintage champagne coupes, getting everyone into the party mood right from the start .(I like their style! Everyone loves a fun bride and groom)

After living away, important for Edel and Aaron to have their nearest and dearest with them to celebrate, although many guests had to travel it meant the world to the newlyweds, something they really appreciated. "What really made our wedding so special was the effort our friends made to be there for us not just the wedding day but the whole weekend. Our guests traveled from all over the world to be with us and it was amazing for us to be able to celebrate with them together with our families. We had all the people we love together in one place for three days and this made our celebration so special."

After the celebration the lovebirds headed off on a three month trip travelling through Central and South America on their honeymoon. No, we're not jealous at all! (speak for yourself Lucy, I'm positively pea-green - Ed)

Congratulations to the happy couple, hope you're still enjoying the fantastic honeymoon! Bring us back a bottle of tequila!
