Along with someone falling ill, rain on your wedding day is many couples' biggest fear - especially if you planned your ceremony outdoors. But Joanne and Graham are not like most and when the rain poured on their wedding day they embraced it, following through with their orchard ceremony in the Longueville House gardens and later returning outdoors for dancing under the stars. The results were both magical and inspirational and Rory O'Toole was on hand to capture each and every moment.
Sweet and simple, Joanne and Graham met through a mutual friend at The Catwalk bar in Cork city. They began to date and as the years passed, they soon realised they never wanted to part.
A perfect match Graham proposed to Joanne in their home, which as Joanne lovingly told us - "our home, where our plans and journeys start and end."
Lovers of the outdoors and nature Joanne and Graham really wanted to marry outdoors, so when the rain began to fall on their wedding day they didn't let it stop their plans.
Embracing the weather Graham and Joanne dressed in rain ponchos and wellies and said their I dos under the shelter of a canopy. Most importantly though, they smiled throughout.
A dainty bride Joanne chose a vintage inspired high-low wedding dress from Vintage Bride which she accessorised with vintage accessories and a bouquet of wild flowers. The wild flowers were picked that morning from the gardens of Longueville House, and were also used to decorate the stunning glass reception room.
Once the rain cleared Joanne and Graham returned outdoors for some charming portraits with photographer Rory O'Toole, and outdoor dancing before heading back inside to dance the night away to the tunes of wedding DJ In Crowd Wedding Music. As Joanne fondly remembers..."The DJ playing vinyl for the night was the fabulous Jim from In Crowd Entertainment and Danny Pullman jammed on the sax."
For their honeymoon Joanne and Graham kept to the outdoor theme with a hiking trip in the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco for seven days followed by seven days of chilling in Essaouira and the Ourika Valley. "A truly magical and colourful place."
Congratulations to you both, and thanks so much for sharing your Longueville House wedding with us all. A big thank you also goes to Rory O'Toole for sharing his work with us. To see more from Rory O'Toole visit www.roryotoolephotographer.com
