There are some things you can do at a small wedding that you just can't pull off at a larger celebration, having all 50 guests sit at one long table, outdoors and under a blanket of twinkly lights, for example! That's exactly what Karina and Alejandro did when Covid-19 restrictions put a limit on their guest numbers, and, once you see the imagery by Prisma Photo and Video, you'll know that the results were jaw-droppingly beautiful! Of course, it helps that their awe-inspiring venue is located at the volcano at Cajamarca in El Salvador, a place where the couple and their guests could let loose and stay (relatively!) cool in the December heat! There are so many stylish details in their outdoor wedding, we just can't wait to dive in!
Karina and Alejandro first met at university back in 2012. Their wedding planner, Belen Esquivel, tells us, "Karina had a project and Alejandro was going to help her and her friends. From the first time she saw him, she felt he had to be for her! A month after, on December 12th, 2012, they started dating." And eight years later, on December 12th, 2020, they tied the knot! How lovely!
This couple clearly have an affinity with nature that influenced their choice of wedding venue! Belen tells us, "They both love the beach and mountains, so they had the legal wedding at the beach, and the religious wedding in the San Salvador volcano, in a little forest. They love the weather in that area!"
The couple's top priority for their wedding was, "to have all the guests sitting together." Belen explains, "as it was a mini wedding, we had one long table for 50 people!"
The couple's wedding took place just as lockdown was ending in El Salvador, giving everyone an extra cause for celebration! That said, Covid-19 restrictions did make things a little trickier for the couple and their team. "We needed to follow all the protocols for the guests very strictly," Belen says, "and find a way for them to enjoy the party, taking care of every detail like sanitiser, masks, and social distancing."
As the couple love tattoos and Karina loves dried flowers, a modern bohemian wedding was perfect for this pair! Belen tells us, "We had a long table for 50 people in the middle of the forest, under lots of string lights. The colour palette was inspired by Alejandro's outfit, with trendy colours."
How fabulous is this outdoor dining space set-up!?
Belen explains, "it’s a venue in the volcano of El Salvador that has a little forest inside. Before it, there was a coffee hacienda (farm). The weather is amazing, it may be so hot in the city but it is always chilly and fresh here in Cajamarca."
Karina and Alejandro loved working on the details of their big day. Belen tells us, "they fell in love with the final result of every little detail on the table. Karina loved the result of the dry flowers and pampas grass, combined with the orange, burgundy, and mustard colours. They both had a wow and a big smile when they saw it!"
The couple's favourite moments from the day were Karina's walk down the aisle and the couple's first dance, which Karina describes as, "a dream coming true!" It certainly looks like a lot of fun!
Thanks so much to Karina and Alejandro for sharing their gorgeous outdoor wedding with us, and to Prisma Photo and Video for providing the beautiful imagery! There are even more photographs to swoon over in the gallery below.
