What a whirlwind we’ve all been through over the past few days and weeks. The world has changed utterly in the space of just a few days, throwing everyone’s lives into chaos and forcing the abandonment of so many plans, and the postponement of some of the most important celebrations of anyone’s lifetime, including of course, your wedding.
To all of you who have had to postpone your plans for the coming weeks and months and those of you who are living in a limbo-land, not sure what will happen with your wedding. We just wanted to take a moment to say how much we feel for you. We know how much this hurts and how it feels like a nightmare we all just want to wake up from.
“I don’t like this episode of Black Mirror” is one instagram post that springs to mind.
But no matter how much it hurts right now, and how uncertain the world feels, we know that your day will come. It doesn’t feel like that right now, it’s just disappointment and uncertainty. But it will come and when it does it will be fantastic. All the more because it will be a celebration of what we’ve all come through and how precious life is.
Celebrating a marriage is one of life’s most important days, when we witness love in all its forms - the couple themselves joining together in a lifelong bond, but also friends and family coming together in an overflow of love and support. It’s a day of joy and emotion, of laughter and love.
Those are the days to look forward to. When we’ve all left our homes and can see each other, and hug and kiss and dance and play. Those days are soon. When exactly, we don’t know, but we do know they will come again.
The world is working together to find solutions at a speed never before seen, and in the meantime we have the most dedicated and resourceful people putting everything they have into minimising the impact and helping those directly affected.
Our heartfelt thanks to everyone working on the frontline - all the healthcare workers working tirelessly to help everyone who has and will be infected and all the supermarket and pharmacy staff and the delivery drivers keeping our shelves stocked. And everyone behind the scenes and pulling together to help us get through this time. You are the true heroes, and we are immensely appreciative of everything you’re doing.
At One Fab Day, we are proceeding as normally as we can in these times. Our mission is to bring you our best creative and useful content every day. We're working hard to answer questions and create new features that entertain and inspire. We want to provide a safe space you can escape to and dream of what is to come.
Because it is coming, and it will be incredible.
