Riverside Vows and One Very Cute Pup: Casey & Nathan

Sequins and pampas grass on the Sunshine Coast

With a colour palette of vivid greens, ivory white and soft peaches, today's real wedding is a feast for the eyes! Of course, it helps that it's got one of the most beautiful places on the planet, the coastal town of Noosa in Queensland, as its backdrop. Australian couple Casey and Nathan chose Chaplin Park, Noosa, and Noosa Waterfront Restaurant as the two locations for their big day, and we are absolutely bowled over by the style and the setting. In fact, this feature, and the stunning wedding photography by White Images, should probably come with a warning: may cause high levels of wanderlust!

How gorgeous are these girls!? Casey's knockout sequin wedding dress is by Karen Willis Holmes, while the white bridesmaids dresses her besties are wearing are by Esther & Co.

Now that's an epic bunch of flowers! Casey tells us, "I am a massive flower lover, and couldn’t imagine getting married without a showstopping bouquet. Just look at it!"

Casey tells us that she and Nathan worked together for years before they became a couple. "We both found ourselves single at the same time, and started chatting at a work Christmas party. A bit of harmless flirting kicked off, and it stayed that way for a few months, before we finally decided to risk an office romance. Nathan was everything I could want in a partner. He was kind, a little mysterious, subtly affectionate, ambitious and a real family guy with the same values and goals. I just couldn’t stay away, and thank god I didn’t! Seven years later, I'm married to my best friend and we have turned our duo into a trio!"

What a dreamy ceremony set-up! This couple used rustic wood benches as seating, to allow the natural beauty of Chaplin Park to shine through.

Casey tells us that Nathan popped the question while they were out walking their dog, Peanut, along the Sandgate waterfront. "He had already been to see my Dad a couple days earlier (I thought he was at soccer training!) and he had packed the back of the car with Champange and glasses and written a beautifully-crafted poem about our lives together. Oh, and one hell of a diamond ring! Obviously, I said yes!"

The couple viewed a handful of spaces before deciding on Noosa Waterfront Restaurant as their reception venue. "We viewed a few venues in all different locations, from a Gold Coast hinterland winery to a little chapel in Brisbane Central Business District," Casey says. "The winery and chapel were both gorgeous, but they unexpectedly overwhelmed me, while Noosa was perfect. We had a few great memories there already and that little spot in Chaplin park just felt right."

Casey invented her own fusion aesthetic for the big day, which we think is a great idea! "I always imagined a relaxed kind of coastal bohemian luxe vibe (if that’s even a thing!) and that’s exactly what it felt like. The day was was full of neutral tones, fluffy pampas grass, and fairy lights, set on the beautiful Noosa river."

Could Peanut be any cuter!?

The couple's top priority was having an amazing time with their guests, while they also placed importance on great photography and videography. "We wanted the beautiful memories to be captured perfectly, and to be able to trust in our team to pull it off and have fun in the process."

I love how the muslin table runners are almost perfectly matched to the pampas grass in these floral arrangements! These are the kind of details that guests don't always notice, but they make us so happy!

Casey's advice for engaged couples is to prioritise a few elements of the day and remain focussed on those. "Planning a wedding is hard, but when it's all done and dusted, you’ll only really hang on to the most important parts. And don’t forget each other on the day. I know that sounds like a no-brainer, but it's easy to get caught up in the socialising."

For their honeymoon, Casey and Nathan jetted off to Singapore and the Maldives. "Exploring, eating and shopping in Singapore for a few days right after the wedding was a great way to ease into relaxing," Casey says. "We were on such a high after the wedding, we really needed those few days to loosen the shoulders and calm the excitement. I probably don’t need to sell the Maldives to anyone, it really is just like the pictures!"
