From their proposal to their wedding day and overall relationship Clair and Ultan are all about the paired back and minimal. Preferring this style to anything overtly over the top Clair and Ultan decided to have a simple city centre wedding day in the effortlessly chic No. 25 Fitzwilliam Place. College sweethearts, Clair and Ultan met whilst studying the same course. Sharing similar passions and outlooks they quickly bonded and began to date.
Having never discussed marriage, Ultan's proposal was quite the happy surprise as Ultan recalls..."It was in Las Vegas. It's a place we both love and have been to a few times. The actual proposal was in our room because neither of us would have been thrilled with the prospect of a public proposal. It was more of an intimate moment rather than a big ordeal. Much in the same way as the wedding itself. There was no ring but pearl earrings as a token as Clair had wanted a pair for some time and it was nice to have a momento of the moment. Clair was shocked as it's not something we had ever discussed but I feel that made it more special."
Clair and Ultan decided to have a small city centre wedding in the chic No. 25 Fitzwilliam Place. They really felt it was the one..."We wanted a venue where we could have both our ceremony and reception, that would cater for a smaller group , and that most guests wouldn't have to travel very far to reach. 25 Fitzwilliam Place was the only venue we visited and we knew after viewing it for the first time that it was exactly what we were looking for. It's beautifully decorated, is in a great location, and was the perfect size for a smaller wedding party."
Steering away from traditional wedding formats Clair and Ultan decided to have a humanist ceremony – they remember..."it felt very personal and relaxed, just what we wanted."
The rest of the wedding was kept sophisticated and contemporary with beautiful minimal flowers by Flower Box and a simple wedding dress for Clair sourced in Adorn Bridal.
Clair describes the look..."We wanted to steer clear of traditional formal wedding aesthetics as much as possible from the flowers to the dress and suits. No element was over styled as we wanted a more relaxed look to everything. The atmosphere was very informal also as to make guests feel welcome and part of the event rather than just observing a formal ceremony."
After their ceremony Clair and Ultan took a stroll around the city with photographer Will O'Reilly, capturing some relaxed wedding portraits and a few moments to take in the day.
Following their city centre wedding they honeymooned in Japan and Singapore, two cities they've always wanted to visit.
