January is such an exciting time of year when you're engaged - here at One Fab Day, we love nothing more than forecasting trends and investigating new ceremony and reception spaces. So today, we're delighted to share a list of new wedding venues in Ireland for 2019. Of course, with new spaces, there's always an element of uncertainty - a few on our list have yet to host a wedding. That said, we've got a good feeling about this lot, and we can't wait to see the colourful and creative bashes they host in 2019, 2020, and beyond...
1. Juniper Barn, Sligo
Housed in a collection of restored farm buildings in the picturesque Sligo countryside, Juniper Barn is a brand new, family-run wedding venue that will welcome its first couples in 2020. Catering for up to 130 guests, the space includes private gardens and woodlands, which are ideal for outdoor ceremonies and drinks receptions, and provide stunning backdrops for wedding portraits. The barns themselves are a delight - with rustic rafters, exposed stone walls and inviting open fires, they require little dressing up, but can also serve as a blank canvas for cool and creative couples.

2. The Devlin, Ranelagh
City weddings will always hold a special place in our hearts but in 2019, we're expecting to see lots of slightly-outside-the-city weddings - bashes that take place a stone's throw from the city centre, allowing for easy access to epic ceremony spaces and wedding portrait locations, but have a more relaxed atmosphere. In Ranelagh village, just a few minutes' drive from Dublin city centre, The Devlin hotel provides a new location for intimate weddings in the form of rooftop restaurant, Layla's. Accommodating up to 80 guests, it's a space with real wow factor, and there's the option to have your reception drinks in the chic Americana Bar, too.

3. Café en Seine, Dawson St., Dublin 2
After closing for refurbishment in the mid-2010s, one of Dublin's best-loved watering holes is back in action, and we think some of their new spaces could be a smart option for a sophisticated city wedding reception. Café en Seine's 50-seat restaurant is available for private hire, as is their Parisian-style Street Garden, which can accommodate 250 guests standing and 80 guests seated. A covered outdoor area with bags of charm, it boasts a private bar, a private entrance off Anne’s Lane, and all the entertainment facilities you'd need for a raucous party.

The Ivy, Dublin
4. The Ivy, Dawson St., Dublin 2
For a colourful and exceedingly glamorous city wedding reception, couples working with a small guest list can book the Jonathan Swift Room at the newly-opened Ivy on Dawson Street. Part of the world-famous Ivy group, the Dublin restaurant is the work of international architect and designer Martin Brudnizki, who used flamboyant colours and high-end materials to give the space a luxurious feel. The Jonathan Swift Room seats 32 guests for dinner or 50 guests for drinks and canapés. There's no space for a DJ or dancing, but it works for a small, dinner party-style soirée, or for couples who are happy to take the party elsewhere after the meal.

5. Orlagh House, Rathfarmham
Set on 45 acres of pretty parkland, Orlagh House in Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin, hosted a handful of weddings in 2018, and is currently accepting bookings for 2019. Intimate celebrations can be accommodated in the house itself, a Georgian manor with eclectic interiors (in which case, your dancefloor will be located in The Oratory, a former chapel with a working organ!), while a marquee can be arranged for larger numbers. A private-hire venue, Orlagh House will attract hands-on couples who want to put their personal stamp on their big day.

6. Burtown House, Kildare
Dedicated foodies may already be familiar with The Green Barn at Burtown House, an organic Scandi-styled restaurant which opened in 2016, but only recently has this Kildare hideaway become a wedding venue, too. The Burtown estate comprises a Georgian villa, The Green Barn, 12 acres of woods and gardens (including the kitchen gardens that supplies The Green Barn), and luxurious accommodation in a series of converted stables known as The Stable Yard. Burtown House hosts a limited number of weddings per year, with options for groups of 60 to 140 guests.

7. Rockhill House, Donegal
Located just outside Letterkenny, about an hour's drive from Donegal Airport, Rockhill House is an exclusive-hire country house venue dating back to the 17th Century. Boasting five reception rooms and 19 bedrooms, Rockhill can cater for weddings big and small - the Chambers dining room is the spot for an intimate dinner of up to 38 guests, while the light-filled Orangerie seats up to 140. Walled gardens and 100 acres of mature woodlands provide plentiful photo ops, and reception rooms like the tastefully-appointed Library Bar come in handy for drinks receptions and second-day celebrations.

8. Carrowroe House, Roscommon
This elegant country house in the Roscommon countryside is new to weddings, but with elegant interiors and beautiful landscaped gardens, it's got all the potential in the world. The owners' daughter had a seriously stylish marquee wedding there in late 2017, which will give you a better idea of what to expect (you'll find some lovely photographic evidence on Brosnan Photographic's blog). They're currently taking bookings for intimate celebrations of up to 75 guests (or 100 standing).

9. The Grayson, St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2
A new restaurant and party venue overlooking St. Stephen's Green, The Grayson is housed across four floors of an extensively-restored Georgian townhouse. With refined cuisine and Instagrammable interiors, it's a promising new spot for stylish city weddings - there's a private dining option for up to 30 guests, but they also can accommodate larger groups on request.

10. O'Mahony's of Watergrasshill, Cork
This family-run country pub in North Cork is just getting started in the wedding game, having hosted a handful of rustic and relaxed celebrations in 2018. As a wedding venue, it's pretty versatile, comprising Granny's Garden, the Bar, The Courtyard and a newly-renovated space called The Long Room. A wedding hosted between the Bar and the Long Room can welcome up to 140 guests, and with the addition of a marquee on site, that number rises to 220. For a buffet-style wedding meal, O'Mahony's can cater for up to 250 guests.
