Today's post is a little bit different than the rest because strictly speaking it isn't about weddings. It was however a special occasion and it really was OneFabDay - my (Naoise) 30th birthday to be precise. We thought it would be a nice way to show you what we look like scrubbed up (we've always been too shy to put up pics of ourselves) and share what was a really fun evening.
We had a 1930s Murder Mystery dinner with all our friends and asked the fantastic Brian and Trish aka We Are The Mastersons to capture the fun and frolics (running this blog you get slightly addicted to great photography so we just had to have brilliant photogs to capture it!).
We thought you might enjoy a sneak peek at it if you were thinking of fun ideas for a celebration (murder mystery wedding anyone?)
This is Helena - looking the epitome of 1930s elegance.
The party took place in North Great Georges Street, the amazing home of the fabulous Desiree Shortt, one of the true Dublin legends, and coincidentally, our landlady (I live in the Garrett on the third floor with this moustachioed lad - Mr. Naoise-to-be). Desiree offers her gorgeous apartment within the house for private events, so we just had to take advantage.
Someone is about to be killed, but which of these guys did it?
Here's Sue looking gorgeous in red, with her hubby Adam looking very prim and proper as the Professor.
Everyone made an amazing effort as you can see...
And here I am with my fiance Ronan (who decided to adopt a particularly creepy 30s persona for the evening -eek!). My hair & makeup was done by the fantastic crew at Queen on Aungier Street (4 hours in the chair peeps, 4 hours!). Couldn't recommend more highly.
As for who dunnit? Well that will have to remain a mystery....
