In a supremely stylish affair at Luttrellstown Castle, our real wedding couple Chelsea and Patrick tied the knot surrounded by 80 of their nearest and dearest. With Anna G Photography there to capture the pair's sophisticated May celebration, this couple opted to forgo a wedding cake, opting instead for a Champagne tower and they adopted an incredibly sweet ceremony ritual destined to be recreated! Featuring phenomenal bridal style, a vintage car and a chic black bridesmaid dress, check out Chelsea and Patrick's elegant special day below!
Before diving into the details of their beautiful celebration, let's get to know the happy couple! Having been originally introduced through mutual friends, Chelsea and Patrick's sweet proposal story took place while they were on a weekend away to Cameron House in Loch Lomond. "Patrick had taken me on a walk around the beautiful lake where he found the perfect view and got down on one knee. I had no idea this was happening nor did he show any signs that he was about to pop the question. He definitely kept his cool."
The historic Luttrellstown Castle played host to the couple's special day which ended up being love at first sight for bride Chelsea: "Originally, we had looked at going abroad for our wedding. The whole getting married in the sun, relaxed vibe definitely appealed to me. However, I didn’t want to completely rule out getting married at home so the very first place that I visited was Luttrellstown Castle and immediately I fell in love. I had looked at multiple other venues but was always drawn back to Luttrellstown due to its sheer charm and luxury and the feeling of still being away without hopping on a plane, so it was a no brainer."
"From the get go, myself and Patrick wanted a very intimate wedding, with our close friends and family present. We wanted to stay away from the traditional ideas of what a wedding should be, what should happen next and who should be there and I don’t think we will ever regret that. I also wanted my guests to feel relaxed and comfortable with the feel of attending a celebration rather than a formal event, and therefore welcomed a smart casual dress code."
Opting for a sleek low bun and a signature Yves Saint Laurent wedding scent, our glowing bride Chelsea donned a superb Elysian Bridal gown with a dramatic high-leg slit and a pair of glorious pearl beaded Mach and Mach bow heels.
With a black, white and neutral colour palette, the couple's fabulous wedding day featured a civil ceremony in Luttrellstown's dreamy Kentian Room. "Although I wanted my wedding to look very classic and timeless, I wanted the day on a whole to feel very relaxed and less regimented."
There was a gorgeous floral lined aisle and the wonderful Tara Carroll acted as celebrant: "For us, we wanted the ceremony to be relaxed and intimate with the celebrant talking about us as a couple, how we met, our proposal and what we like about each other."
Chelsea and Patrick also chose to add an incredibly sweet Wine Box wedding ritual to their special day: "We included a love letter into our ceremony which involved writing a letter to each other on the days coming up to the wedding, how we were feeling and what the future may hold. We then sealed it into a box with a bottle of wine and plan to open it on our fifth wedding anniversary."
In an extra special moment for the couple: "I had asked my friend to read at the ceremony and instead of providing her with the reading, I had asked her to pick something that she would like to read to us. This was very special and meaningful for us both. Can’t recommend enough."
Chelsea and Patrick had this advice for couples embarking on their own wedding planning journeys: "Your wedding is about you and your partner, as a couple, no one else. It’s very easy to get caught up in the traditional ways of a wedding and be influenced by other people’s opinions or what other people might think. Sometimes you need to take a step back and keep reminding yourself that this is YOUR big day."
The couple's evening went on to include a spectacular Champagne tower, a glorious reception outfit change and an alternative to a first dance: "This is one of the traditional elements of a wedding that we didn’t want so instead we welcomed all of our guests up onto the dance-floor for our first dance as husband and wife."
In terms of their well-deserved honeymoon, the couple jetted off to Monaco and Cannes at the end of May: "We are both Formula 1 fans so we attended the F1 Grand Prix whilst we were over. It was such an experience and highly recommend adding it to your bucket list."
