Prepare to swoon ladies (gentlemen, this is one for the romantics among you only) - we have real wedding today that will enchant your eyes and hearts. Amy and Colm celebrated their wedding in Lisloughrey Lodge in County Mayo in a vision of soft muted colours, feminine touches, and a sense of romance at every corner. And the choice of photographer couldn't have been more perfect, as Christina Brosnan, wove her magic behind the lens and capture all the lovely details of this enchanted afternoon...

This is a romance that was meant to be, Amy and Colm are a pair of childhood sweethearts "I actually met Colm in secondary school, he was the year above me and I really fancied him, he was older and way cooler! We officially met at a Halloween Party after a school event, I made him chase me a little bit but I eventually gave in and the rest is history.

How did Colm pop the question... "The proposal came as a massive shock to me despite the fact that we had been together for 11 years! We were away for my birthday in Galway when he popped the question. I was totally gobsmacked and nearly passed out when he handed me a birthday card saying ‘Will You Marry Me’ with a beautiful diamond ring."

A sense of history and tradition were very important to Amy and Colm so the choice of where and how to have their wedding ceremony was clear - with a reception planned in Lisloughrey Lodge, the beautiful St Mary of the Rosary Catholic Church in Mayo was the scene for a personal wedding ceremony. "Colm’s parents are both from Connemara and we were both educated through Irish in North Dublin (where we met) so a large proportion of our ceremony was through Irish. We also included some little personal touches as Gaeilge on our confetti bags and invitations."

The enchanted ruins surrounding the church and the gorgeous rolling green gardens of  Lisloughrey Lodge in Mayo were the perfect setting for intimate images of the bride and groom and their wedding party.

Like most couples, Amy and Colm took their time picking the perfect venue for their wedding day...After lots of driving around the west of Ireland we arrived at Lisloughrey Lodge. The views were absolutely stunning over Lough Corrib but more importantly the atmosphere in the hotel was just so relaxed and beautiful. The lodge and accommodation were absolutely stunning and really suited our own individual style, I was instantly in love with it! Food was also really important to us and Lisloughrey was renowned for delicious food.

The soft light of a golden afternoon, a walk among the woods - Amy and Colm are the picture of happiness. And how could Colm resist Amy in her beautiful House of Delphine dress? It's all a dream...

We wanted our day to be relaxed, fun and really enjoyable for our family and friends. Our wedding style was very feminine and romantic with hints of inspiration from the 1920’s to create an elegant vintage feel. The colours, textures, flowers and vintage props really helped to create our wedding experience.

Amy and Colm's theme was oh so romantic with touches of soft colours and pastels brought through in her flower boutique, table center piece's and stationery.

What advice would you give to brides and grooms planning their day?My first piece of advice to other couples would be to relax and enjoy your day! It is so important to stop and take it all in, from the planning to the excitement of the build-up to the actual day with your closest family and friends, try not to sweat the small stuff it all works out on the day!My second piece of advice would be to choose great suppliers. We were blessed with the suppliers that we worked with for our wedding. We spent a lot of time choosing the right ones for us and it absolutely paid off. I can honestly say that our suppliers really made the entire planning experience for me; I met so many amazingly talented people who added so much to our wedding experience.

Congratulations to the lovely couple, Amy and Colm on their wedding day!
