Lazing on a Sunday morning? Bet you're on the ipad in bed, flicking through pinterest and your favourite blogs, which in fairness is really wedding "work" - so here's a bit of hard toil to keep you going for a few more mins... the beautiful eco-friendly (that's two in a row now) wedding dresses of Leila Hafzi. This Norwegian bridal designer like Sanyuktha Shreshtha specialises in high-end sustainable fashion but her designs have more of a distinctly bohemian feel, with each collection harnessed by a particular theme. In the past Leila's themes have ranged from "I Wish" and "Bright Dreams" up to the current "My Love" 2013 range which is naturally romantic, soft and utterly dreamy...
Each Leila Hafzi dress is very distinct and beautifully stylish. There are both short and long dresses, asymmetrical hems, open backs and interesting neck lines, every one expertly crafted and offering a wide range of choices and inspiration for brides. The feel of the collection is very relaxed and unstructured yet at the same time remaining elegant.
Inspiration for the dresses comes from time spent in Kathmandu and builds on the strings of prayer flags hanging across rooftops and above the streets. Weathered by the wind and sun, their sharp edges grow soft and ruffled, a look, which may be found throughout the collection in details of rough edge cut silks to compliment the overall femininity of the designs.
As well as being beautifully designed Leila Hafzi dresses also come with ethical approval - an issue very relevant at a time where third world factory scandals are ever present, the last thing you would want to think associated with your wedding gown. The company is a proud member of The Ethical Trading Initiative of Norway, acknowledging that companies have a responsibility towards human rights in their supply chain.
An innovative bridal designer with a signature of flattering shapes, graceful and luxurious fabrics as well as a conscience - what's not to love. To see the entire Leila Hafzi collection have a look at www.leilahafzi.com
